creeping more like hiking up pretty steeply too, you'd think in economic crisis they would give a little break on prices, but they just keep going up, I guess they companies are trying to make up on revenue by increasing prices. Any way, they got me sold, I will be looking for this lol

Dammit, that's expensive. I think I have to get one though... hope to find one cheap. This is 20cm, that's about 8 inches? Is this a new scale? I don't own any MF Guyver figures, they're shorter, aren't they?

This Karas figure should be the same size as the Guyver line and the [SIC] figs. ;D

I just can't get over the name.
Megahouse announces Soul of Guys MAX...
... Bandai counters with Soul of Dudes DX...
... Yamato chimes in with the GNU-Bro line...
... the Revoltech "Mann" line counterpart to the "Fraulein" series finally comes to fruition...
I can see it now. I'll be glorious.

I blame figma and their naked dude. Revoltech: Aniki might be worth it though...anything that finally makes a Kamina figure.

That price is very hard to swallow...
I was pretty set to get this, since I love Karas (though the way it ends is a bit underwhelming). But I never expect this SIC type figure is going for around twice the price of what it normally would have cost. Not really sure what I should do about this...

Well on second thought, it seem sto be MF's MO to sell thier figures at premium prices. I can't blame the for all the detail they put into thier figures, but they are a small copany and they dont make a ton of stuff, so I guess they try to get what they can when they do make a figure. But it seems during these tuff times that most companies in general are raising prices as costs increase and so fourth. You wold think this would be a time to cut prices down but they companies gotta eat too.

You wold think this would be a time to cut prices down but they companies gotta eat too. That's true, man! Although, MF Guyver line was still crazy high for the time. I think retail for Guyver I was about 35-4500 Yen. Guyver III was, like, twice that. Some of the other figs in that line were between 8000 Yen +. Oh yeah, don't even get me started on that Dann of Thurs release!! LOL!! I'm going to try very hard to save up for this figure, because if there's one thing I've learned with first press releases of MF figs it's best to get in early before the aftermarket values skyrocket. 11800 Yen now or 17000yen later when their out of print! ;D I might have to use some grocery cash! Of course, this seems to be the general trend of this hobby(Reprints/Restocks can be rare).

Yes this is so true (I missed out on dann of thursday as well and its almost impossible to get now!)
This is one reason why its good to be an impulse buyer in this buisness, of course most of us cant afford to be that way, at least this month was a pretty slow one (for me anyway) so I can recoop a bit (lol who am I kidding i spent money on past figures I missed out during my haitus lol)

The Guyvers are cheap compare to this. And Guyver III is not twice of 3500yen, just 4800yen. Even counting premium figures like Gyuot (awesome), Gigantic, Neo Zx-Tole and such, they are still at the 8000yen range. And they are either much bigger than Guyver (can double the mass), or comes with many options like opening parts or additional armor. While those are definitely high priced, this Karas topped them off as being smaller, less gimmick, but at 3000-4000 yen more. Its getting pretty outrageous, when 11800yen was a middle range gokin or high end transforming toy price. But this is just a PVC action figure...a pretty cool one though.
I love the idea that Max is making cool stuff. Just the sudden jump on price pisses me off a bit. So not sure supporting this kind of pricing and buy it anyway is a good thing to do. Lat time I remember, I can get a figure in similar quality, cost me around 6000yen, and comes in a set of 2 or 3 or has a big bike(SIC). Not happy with Max's move on this. Not to mention the Guyver line just died missing a few cool releases too.

You have a very valid point (especially with SIC) though bandai is humongus and can afford to charge cheaper, MF is smaller so they cant offer the same prices, but I agree this is crazily priced, but since I have paid more for lesser figures, I dont mind it if i have it@!

I think I based the costs off my purchase from image anime, which always seems to cost more since they're an import store?? My apologies. Still looking forward to this Karas though. It's just too cool! ;D
