I noticed a few Chinese sellers with the Yamato VF-1J Hikaru with FAST packs for $121-125 shipped. That seems too good to be true, usually this item sells for $160 or more. Anyone know if this is the real Yamato toy and not a scam or knockoff?
Sellers both have only a few positive feedback scores and no other items for sale.

There are no known Yamato valkyrie knockoffs. Considering how much stuff is getting marked down in today's economy, I wouldn't doubt for a second that they're totally legit but dumping the merchandise to make a quick sale.
EDIT: Read the last part of your post. Well. When it comes to ebay, buyer beware when it comes to people with only a few feedback. Sometimes it's okay, sometimes it's not. Caveat Emptor. They almost definitely aren't knockoffs, but they could be scammers.

I took a quick look and it seems like both sellers have no idea what they're selling. The auction descriptions are short and they're using stock photos. I suspect they might be factory rejects, possibly even stolen. As quinjester said, caveat emptor. However, this is my guess... take it with a grain of salt.
If it were me I wouldn't jump on those just to save $20.

Yeah... something sounds fishy. Free shipping from China... that's just weird. Shame, I really want that v-1j, but I just bought three vf-25's. Need to go easy on the wallet.

There are deals out there, I just bought my first Yamato Valk about five minutes ago. A 1/60 VF-1S Roy Focker with Strike pack for $115.00 U.S + $50.00s/h from a seller I've bought from before.

By the way is there any problems I should know about this figure? I remember there were problems with the shoulder cracking.

By the way is there any problems I should know about this figure? I remember there were problems with the shoulder cracking. Yeah, there is. And it's most prevalent with the Fokker 1S (about a 25-50% failure rate over time, which is lovely). The hinge that the shoulders pivot on will crack, with a lot of them being broken in the box too. There are a number of things people have tried to prevent it - being cautious, etc..., but the hinge is just too thin to support its own weight and most of them were stressed when the pin got put in at the factory.

Well that's just great it's basically a crap shoot if you get a good one or not. Good thing it will be mostly a display piece but I can see why people get sour with Yamato. If I find it's that bad then I'm gonna look for a 1/48, I just wanted the definitive VF-1 in my opinion and perhaps get others in this 1/60 scale.

They are extra, and like $60 for a plastic stand.

I've gotten many very good deals from Chinese (and Taiwanese) sellers on Ebay. However, I always make sure the sellers are reputable with a lot of positive feedback, usually in the hundreds, and no lower than 99% positive. But yeah, if the seller only has a couple feedback, it's not worth the risk.
