Just finished up this baby today and thought I'd share. With this piece I wanted to try out some new methods of the chipped paint effect. I came very close to the desired result, but I'm always looking to improve! Click below:

Love the way the weathering is done on the white parts of the body! The blue seems a bit overdone, but that along with the smooth lines of the figure as a whole looks a lot like a three dimensional rendering of an inked drawing; a very cool effect (whether it was what you were going for or not )

That's a cool battle weathering effect, bro! It looks realistic indeed. I trip out on how robots stay so clean during battle, not even a scratch in the paint job! ;D

Thanks so much for the comments, guys! Yeah, I've been tempted to throw this kit back on the work bench for some parts repainting, but I think I'll just leave it be for now. I'm totally new to the technique that I used with this model so next time I think I'll be a bit more prepared. I just had to get one of these though, I'm tempted to pick up that new Bandai MC Shin Mazinger!

Looks good, but the scratching effect is overdone, mainly on the arms, face and head. Little nicks here and there are great, but whole areas of silver is too much IMHO. The weathering on the white is awesome!
