Cool. Thanks for answering my question. I was asking because the Saint Seiya figures use the same body as well but are scaled up to 17 cm, so they are noticeably taller.

Hey Vic, congrats on the Ex-gear! Just wondering, any problems with the joints? Does it have diecast parts? I'm kind of on the fence on this toy so any info would be greatly appreciated. Gold

Hey Vic, congrats on the Ex-gear! Just wondering, any problems with the joints? Does it have diecast parts? I'm kind of on the fence on this toy so any info would be greatly appreciated. Gold Thanks Gold! Well, for the joints, it really holds the figure but when the armor is put on (the leg armors), if gives more weight on the legs. So when you lean forward the base w/ Alto, the legs tend to move forward but not much. Actually, w/ my unit, the other leg is pretty much tighter than the other. So far, I am satisfied w/ it. My only problem is the shoulder armors, it really limits the articulation of the arms but when posed correctly, you can still move the shoulders w/ the armor on it. The ankle joint of the base figure is double ball-jointed, but it is thin, prone to breakage but can handle the whole figure. Also, the forearm armors will leave some marks on Alto's forearms. Extremities are made of like soft plastic (not ABS) maybe vinyl but strong. Try to slide the forearm armors while putting it onto Alto's forearm. The only armor piece that tends to fall off is the groin armor, it is not loose but that is the only part that will come off by touching it. It is not really a problem though it could be made better. Diecast parts are so minimal, the shin guard of the leg armor is made of diecast, and the 4 clip-like around the shoulder armors and below the armpit. This is my first Figuarts-like figure, but i do see it came from that line. So if you have the SHF Kamen Riders, they are basically the same articulation. Alto stands 6" and w/ the Ex-Gear, it is 7". Wing span is 12". vic01

Thanks for the photo's vic. I'm really tossing around the idea of ordering one on the free ship promo from HLJ while they're still in stock. This is one epic action figure!
EDIT: OK, I have to stop looking at this thread now. Geez! LOL!

Haha yeah that was almost a crackhead price for that shin getter if HLJ didnt have them on sale haha. If you only knew the amount of stuff that is on order...you would flip. BY FAR the largest order I have ever made. I also have 3 more shin getters coming. One normal, one weathered and one black. I think 3 is my lucky number Keep an eye out for my Soul of Iron wallet post coming soon.

Yo chachipower saw your excellent review of the EX Gear. Too bad you have one floppy wing. To answer yes Alto is a guy and not a girl. Lots of animes these days are doing this now and then drawing out the male to be rather feminine looking to draw in the female audiences.

Lots of animes these days are doing this now and then drawing out the male to be rather feminine looking to draw in the female audiences. Thanks guys, I was a little worried it wouldnt go over well since I didnt know much history about the character. That and racing through the armoring. I think it gets the coolness of the figure across though. The floppy wing sux a bit but it stays as long as I dont move it. Its on display right now in sitting mode. WARNING: The armor chest piece that locks together with those 2 little "finger tabs" can break off if figure is not seated properly. Make sure the back of the figure is locked into the main armor with those three holes. If not you will not give clearance for the chest piece to lock correctly causing stress on the fingers. It should lock together without any force. How do I know? Cause I forced it on, then when I forced it off, one of the finger tabs came off!! so what was the fix for something so TINY? I drilled the spot where the tab is, then filled with epoxy, then sunk the remaining tab into the hole and voila its as good as new. Not for the weak of heart Dont be afraid to play with your figure's armor, it takes a lot of force to break it. Thanks again for checking out the video
