I've got a Micro Vehicle Assembly Base that I've been tinkering with for almost two years now. It's modeled after NASA's Vehicle Assembly Building. Part of the inspiration here is the old Macross/Robotech Factory diorama model kits. it all started with my attempt to make a 'Build Base' with Micronaut parts...

That's really cool. You're using the Microman stuff the way it was intended, like Lego, to be customized with imagination. Good demo of the concept.
Definitely similar to the Macross factory stuff, which was very intruiging stuff to a lot of us kids. Nice job!

I have seen these pictures before and I have even saved them on my Zune because I think that this is the essence of what Microman/Micronauts is all about INTERCHANGABILITY! I know most people like just the figures while others like the vehicles and others like the robots but I love the structures and buildings that our Micronauts dwell in. At one point I had 32 buildings set up in my toyroom and I had figures, cars and robots all throughout interspersed with Stratastation and MicroRail City tracks and Rocket Tubes! Unfortunately all those pictures I had are gone after my computer was stolen last year.
I like to see what other collectors come up with in their layouts of MicroCitys and I even try to incorporate some of their ideas with mine to make more structures for the Nauts to hang out in!

Hey, Thanks for the comments guys! I'm usually more into the figures than anything else, but I learn something new every time I tinker with these parts. They are a lot of fun. Rubin, your collection is legendary in the Micro-community. I'm sure I saved many pictures from your site (back in the day). I'm glad to see you are still involved and interested in Microman. -Dave Zav (Micro General Contractor)

Pretty cool, Dave - love the photos! They sure don't make toys like they used too! Man, I miss my Micronauts. Too bad I abused most of them and my parents stored them near an archaic hot water heater. The few parts I have left are in pretty sad condition. And I can't really get into a whole new line of toy collecting.

On this board I see all kinds of stuff that I wish I got into sooner.

Here are some updates to my Micro Vehicle Assembly Base. I had to move my photo backdrop to put this here. I've screwed it down to the desktop to keep it in place.

Very cool! I am using Micronauts parts right now to make some kind of base for my Robotech Robolinks. Which, if anybody has any Robolinks to sell, please let me know! I am always looking for more.

Let's see some photos. I really like the Robotech bases. I've been collecting pictures to help with my base.

I won another Mego Micronauts Mega City on ebay back in November, you can see the stack of the new orange girders in this photo. Click the link in my signature to my Flickr page for bigger pictures. This is very difficult to photograph. With the additional girders I was able to finish the 3rd assembly bay and add the Hydro Copter launch pad.

Soon you'll either need a bigger base to display this on or you'll just have to keep erecting vertically! You'll have to go the skyscraper route. Great progression photos.

Wow, thanks! That is an amazing display, great creativity. The larger Biotrons being maintanced really is something. I think one could even draw the comparison from a deluxe Tet 28 to the way you have this base and micros set up, even though they are so different in materials, design, concept, etc....

Thanks for the comments guys and the comparison to Tet 28, a robot I very much would like to own. I am running out of options in terms of space for this. I am considering breaking it up into three separate bays, like the first picture in this post, so it can be modular. That may involve tearing it apart in order to rebuild

I did a little surgery to the base and split it up into two. I have enough girders for a third but I need 12 of the large octogons with the small square openings that hold the orange girders *I looked it up and my flag is hanging correctly when viewed from inside

Looking good! This is so wild. So much fun. I wonder how this would all look if the white parts were all painted gray to make them look like metal.

I've been contemplating painting these parts but it would be a big job, and I would have to mask the holes or deal with clearing them after. It seems like it would be a huge job to do it right, other than just housing the whole assembled thing with spray paint OR, I could print out some images from other playsets, like the SW Deathstar playset, or even the Microman Buildbase set, and installing them all along the inside walls. Because these are "building" type toys, nothing is permanent, so this project continues to grow and change. Any suggestions are appreciated and I encourage others to try their own ideas and share them here. I can make a diagram that shows my recipe for assembling all the levels (floors), if anyone is interested.

Installing something along the walls might look cool. Just all that white is starting to seem like overload to me. Still pretty damn cool, but it distracts from all the other intricacies, like the figures and such. Just my opinion.

I'll probably just over-fill the bases full of figures and parts and details. It's not gonna be pretty, but it will have a look all its own. It's gonna look like this:
