I would like to get the Genesic Gaogaigar but I don't know about the differences between the two. Can anyone help me out? Are they both die cast or are they plastic?
Thanks!

I was faced with this same dilemma when I wanted to purchase a Genesic Gaogaigar figure.
If you want a die-cast figure with great sculpting then the Max Factory is for you.
CM's has a transforming feature as well as minimal die-cast parts. Quite hard to stand on some surfaces.
I ended up opting for the CM's because of its transforming gimmick which was more important to me (in this case) than more die-cast parts.
In addition to this, CM's also released the regular gaogaigar and gaofighar
so if you want to display transforming versions of these 3 all together then CM's the way to go.

Both company's GGGG have also had issues with fragility; in particular the hip joints of the Max Factory version are notorious for breaking. The CM's on the other hand, has an issue with the knee joints (at least on the original release) being easily broken. The knee, at least, is easily repaired, while the hip joints on the Max not so much.
The CM's is bigger, and while %-wise it has less diecast, it is heavier as a result. It's also transformable. The Max Factory has a more stylized sculpt and cannot transform.
Both figures are really designed to be put on a shelf and admired, which unfortunately defeats a lot of the purpose of making the CM's transformable. However, it's hard to beat it for shelf presence and knowing it CAN transform is a nice thing.

solution buy both one to show GGGG main form (that would be MF) and the other ot show the different seperated bots that form him.... that was my intention but I sold CM since I like form over functionality these days.

I have both, so my advice is : if transformation is a must for you, go for CMS. If not, Max Factory's GGGG is better on every aspect, sharper details, crisp paint, the gold is beautiful compared to CMS, rock solid feel (the CMS one seem very fragile when you hold it !). I also prefer the proportions of the MF one.

although i dont have neither of the figures, a friend of mine does. I can clearly tell you that both figures a really nice but for replay value i have to say the CM version since is much more anime accurate. the max factory is pretty nice and all but is just a simple figure but pretty nice figure while the CM version is a transforming figure, for me although i think the CM is a bit more expensive than the MF version (i think) the CM has more replay value in away.
but then again not everyone has the same taste, so i would suggest you get the one that you can afford or find easy

Yeah for these two they are very different toys, and both expensive (though I do think CMS is more if i remmeber). Droumaster is right, MF GGGG is more of a display piece then anything. CMS definitely has more playvalue and overall functionality. but the MF is just so damn sexy!! hellric, cant wait to see what you got next!!

Can anyone post pictures of the CM's version beside the Maxfactory version. I would really appreciate it.

The CM's transformation isn't all that great either and takes a fair amount of time and fiddling with, and once you get it transformed it's probably best not to mess around with it too much either. I prefer the Max Factory version quite a bit more. I've never had the hip problems on either the regular version or the green version.
If you do get the CM's version, be sure to buy one of the later re-issues that attempted to reinforce some of the problem areas.
