While I can fully understand spending that much for something as insanely rare as that, why do you want to download and play chopped up versions of 3 games? Why not download Super Mario Bros, Tetris, and Rad Racer in full?

Wow, I'm glad he found his holy grail. But for chopped versions of a game I remember a few years ago that came out on downloadable ROMS and it's quite good, it measures your reflexes and totals your score.
Everybody played the whole versions for sure, now with this game it's benchmarking time and who see who's the most hardcore gamer.

I thought the Neo-Geo games were expensive at almost $1000 each, new...

Dude, yes, it is, but not at your everyday download spots...the ROM should be fairly easy to find for a savvy searcher.

I was just joking bout the whole d/l thing. Any video game collectors here? I've pretty much kept every game that I have brought and even the ones that my parents got me. Noteable valueable games in my collections, GC Metal Gear Solid and GC Zelda Collection. Also have a Mint Copy of Megaman X2 SNES, used to have SNES Megaman X3, but sold that one. Sometimes, you just have to look at your old game and see what the going prices are for them. I mean, an original copy of PSX Final Fantasy VII goes for more than what it was originally retails for. And if you were lucky enough to have brought Suidoken 1 or 2 on the PSX, you would have more than double or triple your money. To my surprise, Gamecubes Metal Gear Solid was consider rare, because it was a complete remake of the PSX game and few people actually bought it.

nope I dont collect I just play and pass.... but when i was a kid I did save every game I had gotten. until my mom sold my entire childhood collection at a grage sale for only 100..... sighh.
But a lot of those games are really only worth something if its never been open, and thats something I wont do, buy a game to never open it.
I know the original SNES FF III was worth a pretty penny. I remember when I sold that back in 98 or so and got $50 for it! I can imagine how much it is worth today!

I don't call myself a collector next to my friend/co-worker who is a hardcore collector (every week we go to the local second-hand store to see what he can score for a few dollars and make a killing on eBay; a few weeks ago he stumbled on a nearly complete Virtual Boy, took it home, refurbished it, and sold it at a swap meet for a 500% turnaround!). The guy has about 2/3 of all PSX games ever published (there are just over 1000) in a closet in his home... But he doesn't collect everything (he wouldn't have room to keep everything anyway). He does collect NES carts but no, he does not own one of the NWC carts. As for myself, I don't often sell off my games but I do like to keep them in nice condition when I find something that looks special. I have both PSX remakes of Lunar. I have nearly a full collection of Metal Gear games (obviously I'm missing the NES and Japanese games). Also a few other unusual themes - I collect Gundam games (I don't play them, but I just like to have them to be silly).

Game Informer magazine had recently published an article on the most expensive video games, and this cartridge was on their list. From the April 2009 issue, here's the article (sorry, I only have a black and white scanner available to me). Hopefully its legible.
