Yumcha helped on another BBS: Diaclone Magnus is nice...I love the blue and red look and it certainly displays nicely. The "Optimus Prime" cab is also nice esp. with the color combinations... Now, the Shining Magnus (aka Pissed-Off) looks...weird. I bought him but I still have trouble accepting his look...The cab is tolerable but when he is in Ultra Magnus form, I think he looks just fugly...Just my two cents! ^_^ ****************************************** Me: How did the "Shining" version come to be? Is it safe to assume it was an anime scene? I used to think these versions were pretty strange and they were under my radar. Then, just the other day I saw them in person and the nostalga crept back. If FLOWED in fact (waxed eh?!). Old Optimus Prime was just a kick arse toy from times past. Now I'm starting to get the feeling these re-issues are really "unique." The diecast content is there too. Kids love em from what I hear (in person) but they just can't afford them......... -Ed www.robot-japan.com

I have the Diaclone Ultra Magnus and I can tell you it's the most beautiful thing ever. I've never loved Ultra Magnus or even Prime's cab so much before. It's hard to tell how cool it is cuz the box covers it up, but here's a pic of mine:

The original Diaclone version was actually a bit better, IMO. Darker blue on the trailer/larger body, a second Diaclone release had a silver chrome chest area (as opposed to dull gray), plus the chestplate/spaceship had wheels and the toy included a G1 sized transforming car/robot. And, of course, you got drivers.
Still, this was far cheaper and good enough for me!
