Colors Part II Bluestreak-- Does Takara have a re-issue BLUE Bluestreak yet? I believe the reissues are black on the hood. That and then we have all Gray reissues.

I'm certain I'd seen publicity photos for a Blue Bluestreak a while back, but I wasn't interested so I didn't pay attention. Couldn't tell you if it's been released yet, but it was definately an ehobby exclusive.

To quote an authority (Onslaught Six ):
You're opening a big can of TF history here...
All right. First off, Bluestreak, like many of the 1984-1985 issue TFs, came from a previous Japanese toy line 'Diaclone.' There were two versions of this toy available: One with blue sides and a silver hood & roof, and one with a black hood roof & silver sides. When Hasbro brought the toy over to US shores as Bluestreak, they used the blue version for Bluestreak's box art and instructions. They used the black hooded version for the cartoon. Then they fused the two together and made an all-silver Fairlady Z named Bluestreak.
In 2002, Takara (the japanese TF company) reissued Bluestreak in his Diaclone black hood & silver sides colors, this one called 'Anime Bluestreak' because it was colored like the cartoon. Hasbro is bringing over the Anime Bluestreak repaint this year, but they lost the copyright to the name 'Bluestreak' over the years and thusly are renaming him 'Silverstreak.'
It's all moot with the Blue Bluestreak anyway, as the name never had anything to do with his color, but rather his habit of talking.

Odd choice for the black-and-gray one because the original of it was probably scarcer than the blue one.
Would have been nice to get a TF-boxed blue one though. It was cool to get a TF-boxed red Tracks to match the error in the box art showing a red Tracks.
