Hehe, any thoughts about them?
At first, I thought, "nothing beats the original line", and don't worry, it hasn't, but oh man!!!, those things will blow you away!!! I don't "play" with my toys, I'm mostly a collector. If i get something loose, I usually display it behind a glass cabinet or keep it in storage. If boxed, i usually just peek inside, without removing it from the container. But when my friend (who was encouraging me to collect armada) brought me a couple of samples (starscream and hotshot), and i got hooked instantly. They are very playable, nice gimmicks, looks sturdy (compared to RID and beaswars) and they are value for your money (cheap!!!).
Most of their concepts are very innovative indeed. Optimus' trailer transforms by itself while you transform optimus??? Attaching minicons "unlocks" additional battle action??? I know this was the premise for powermasters, but you just attach the powermaster figure, in armada, when you attach it, somthing pops up!!! Really cool.
The only down-side (if you can call it that) is the lack of diecast parts. But for the price, who cares? the plastic used is sturdy enough, even better than some target masters, pretenders, and action masters. The engineering is top-notch!!! It's waaaaay better than RID or those beast wars. it's very fun!!! and last, they look great in vehicle and robot modes. Check out micron star saber, perceptor, for just a "small" (hehe) sample.
Anyway, what do you guys think about it?
