I don't know about fans in general, but I'd say that the Alteisen and Weissritter are my two favorite robot designs ever, bar none. Does that count?
I have a representation of the two of them on 3 of the 4 display shelves in my apartment so I can see them almost no matter where I look ;P

do fans of SRW held the characters and robots in the same regard as Mazinger,Voltes,Getter Robo ...Dancougar...etc Different generations, so that's hard to say. I think where SRW bots all stemmed from video games, this makes these robots less prone to the nostalgia people get from cartoons they grew up when very young. On the other hand, if fans are willing to pay $150 for a single Ryukooh figure which is roughly the same as your average $20 McFarlane figure, I would say there is a lot of dedication.

yeah i think it has a rather substantional faithful following but I dont think its that mainstream due to the lack of figures (and the fact that the ones that are made are very expensive and limited). But they do keep churning out the video games. I bet if the anime did a lot better we would of seen more and cheaper mechs. As it is, it is obvioulsy big enough for what they are doing for the characters........ and if bandai ever adds them to damashii lineup.......... its a wrap! Come on bandai!!!

The SRW bots are definitely a bigger appeal for Asian gamers who grew up playing SRW series (the series had lasted more than a decade with a new game every year or two). Its a niche market, but had earned its popularity partly by the games themselves, but also partly by the great designs these bots have. They are pretty unique from the mainstream stuff (just look at RyuKoOh). And for the ones that are more recognizable (Huckebeins that look like Gundam-ripoffs) they were designed by great mecha artists like Katoki Hajime. And while they lack the nostalgic appeal like classic bots have, some of these may strike a special cord for the gamers. Instead of having Kabuto Koji piloting Mazinger Z, the Grungust (triple changer from SRW4) will always be remembered as the robot I, the gamer, piloted to save the world. How cool is that?! But yeah, as cool as it is, the price for these figures were outragous to begin with, and it just got worse through the years. They used to be the only representation of these cool bots, but not anymore when plastic models and gokins popping up here & there. As a collector, I don't regret collecting them, but its getting to a point I have to call it quit, after getting RyuKoOh.

Please tell me this is an actual action figure that is going to be released Yes, I can, in fact, tell you that. then tell me its not going to cost 200 lol I cannot, alas, tell you that. It falls into the Dengeki Hobby mail-in release bracket, just like past figures, so expect to pay out the nose. ... but then, you knew that already

The Banpresto Kits have been coming out extremely slooooowww. They are finally getting around to releasing the alpha Ryukooh and that was announced close to three years ago.
I wouldn't think you'll see the Kaiser for at least 8 months, and that's assuming he's next in line after Ryukooh, but that's just a guess of course.

I wonder why these are so expensive if banapresto is making them cuz the generally make some very nice and affordable figures. Now I thought these were Volks, I can understand cuz all there stuff is expensive
I don't mind waiting though hopefully it will come out during a slow month lol

They are made by Volks, but branded under Banpresto (cause the games are). Compatible Kaiser shown above is a action figure prototype (which Dengeki Hobby have been churning out every now and then). It even has the same joints that the production figures have, so very sure its not a resin statue.
But whether Compatible Kaiser will go into production is unknown. Production stopped for a couple years, and while RyuKoOh sort of restarted the line, not sure if the line will last til Compatible Kaiser's release. There is a good chance you'll see it made, but kind of have to wait and see. I would say it may take at least a year or two if not longer before they get to him. And yeah, be ready to pay around $200, for a larger size MSIA quality PVC figure (with some plastic clicky joints).
SRW Dengeki figures are very cool, but you really have to love the robot to make it worthwhile. They are not that playable on some (sometimes weight balance issue, joints not well made, PVC peg connection kind of loose). Some may even need panel lining (yup, panel lining a $100+ action figure). But they sure has their charm.
