Can someone translate to English please!!! Or can someone confirm: 1. Those in North America can't order the base directly from the site? 2. The certificate that comes with the GX-50 is a discount coupon, but you are free to order the base without the coupon?

It's only available directly to from the website if you live in Japan and have a Japanese address You can order it without the coupon but then again only to Japanese residents.

Gents, I received a payment request from Amiami.com today for the GX-50 and a Bandai Soft Vinyl figure Agira, plus the EMS shipping. The total for the entire order & shipping was ¥17,565 JPY.
HLJ currently has the GX-50 for ¥17,800 JPY plus mandatory EMS shipping at ¥4,000 JPY (for the USA). That's ¥21,800 JPY and not even counting the extra ¥800 JPY for the Agira figure and it's ¥580 JPY SAL shipping (not EMS).
Bottom line - if I would have gotten this figures from HLJ and had them shipped via EMS (which would have been mandatory anyway because their value is over ¥15,000 JPY), I would have paid ¥23,180 JPY, versus the ¥17,565 JPY that I paid with Amiami. Savings of ¥5,615 JPY and still shipped via EMS...!!!
Amiami.com RULEZ!!!

Hi themazingerz . Sorry for taking a tangent and switching topics here ... I've never heard of AmiAmi.com until you pointed them out. 1. What is your experience with them? Cheaper prices is always good, but I also believe that you get what you paid for ... 2. What country are you based in? I'm in Canada, and I was wondering what S&H would be like (dependable, trackable)?

Well, Amiami.com just started selling their products outside Japan, but they have always been the number one source in Japan. They are just as reliable as HLJ.com but with way better prices (as you can see in my post). I have ordered from them three times now and they are very good. If Amiami ever comes out with an ordering system like HLJ.com, they will put all other shops out of business!
Right now the only thing HLJ has over Amiami is their ordering system and how great the pack their SAL & EMS boxes - not so much when shipped via Fedex (but that may not be their fault) - shipping charges are almost the same, but Amiami has more restrictions. Communication wise they are even.
I'm all about quality service, so if I can get it and save a lot of money as well then, its a no brainer!

Nice! The new Com-Battler looks all angry and stuff while the old one looks like he just saw his wife with another robot.
Edit, in-stock at Angolz and just bought one.

I agree with Chen... the new Combattler has a better "Hero-Command presence" (a "villians beware!" look) about his face. The other Combattler looks like a whimpy-eyed Combuttthead-- ---I'd never pilot a robot (let alone own an action-figure) with that sad puppy-eyed look. Never. By the look of the pics, the new Comby seems to have a better design symetry over the other one, and better articulation as well. If this is true, I can see the new one selling out quick with high-fives from fans. Did this new combattler come out This year? Throw him in with the TOTY thread.... He looks friggin Badazz, Hands down. zozo-magengar

i am not too hot on this one. It doesn't seem to have as much "improvements" as the Voltes V respect.

i am not too hot on this one. It doesn't seem to have as much "improvements" as the Voltes V respect. Err.. okay, just to quickly go over the improvements. Battle Jet -now has retracting gunpods -now has retractable landing gear -now has the Magna Laser -now has an opening c0ckpit hatch Battle Crusher -now has folding wings for increased wingspan -now has a better way of "hiding" the rear thrusters. Battle Tank -now has a huge cannon attachment -now the shovels/claws can open close Battle Marine -Now has attachment ports for the "knee wheels" when in Gran Dasher mode. Battle Craft -Now has a magnetic clasps for combining the 2 feet together. Plus all of the windows are now clear plastic. Combattler now has -Chodenji Yo-yo "energy strings" -Huge Chodenji Yo-yo (Chodenji Yo-yo double Cutter) -Cutter Kick accessory -Big Blast Divider -Battle Guleggar -Hunter Rest -Big Atomic Burner -Meaner-looking Chodenji Spin spikes The only weapon missing would be the Battle Chain Saws. Plus the improved articulation for the shoulders and knees plus an extra rotating joint below the knee. Now comparing that to how the Gx-31 V was "improved" -Improved Voltes Bazooka -New elbow joint -Longer Panzer legs for the "tank mode" -"Vintage-styled" antennae for the Frigate and Lander -Improved leg and ankle joints -totally repainted to resemble the vintage toy.
