Does anyone have both Hasbro and Takara version of Transformers Armada? I would like to compare the two versions. I've heard that the Takara version has more detail than the Hasbro release. Is this true? Is there anyone could share some pictures? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE? DOMO ARIGATO!!!

That was true for Robots In Disguise. I haven't heard it about Armada, but it seems probable. With RID, the Japanese versions tended to have more detail and quality parts while the American versions had more stability and durability. Basically, the Japanese version was targeted at adolescents and adults while the American version was targeted at children.

Thanks for the info shaxper. That's great, because all of my Transformers RID are from Takara. I have seen a lot of RID at toys r us not too long ago, But didn't had a chance to compare it. But I'm glad to hear that. Since I always want to buy the better version. Can't wait to see the pictures admin1. Thanks all...

I don't know all the differences between Japanese and American RID, but here are a few:
Prime/Convoy: Something was changed with the American missile launchers that pretty much everyone agrees is worse. I only have the Japanese version too, so I don't know what was changed.
Ultra Magnus: American version has an extra well placed Autobot logo. Don't know about any of the other differences.
Railracer: Here's the biggest one I know of. The Japanese version has A LOT more attention to detail, including real transparent windows and such. The American version replaced these with simple paint jobs but made some adjustments to the design so that Railracer holds together a little better.
I suspect that the Japanese version of Scourge may have had real metal on his chest rather than stickers (but I'm not sure) and that better quality plastic and detailing was used on all or most of the toys, but I'm not positive.
