My boss was cleaning out his garage last weekend and found some old gundam models. Being the fan that I am I scooped them up, for free ;D, and brought them home. I got a SG Serpent Custom, HG MSM-03 Gogg, a MG MS-06F/J Zaku II, a VF-1J Valkyrie and Weapon Set. Biggest problem I have right now is that I can't read Japanese and I'm having some problems trying to figure out what colors I need to fully paint them. I've put Gundam models together before but these kits I want to do properly with the paint and what not, especially the Valkyrie and Zaku. Any idea's as to where I should start looking? My local Tamiya supplier didn't seem to have any of the paints I needed.

are you trying to find out what colors you need exactly or where is a good place to buy paints?? Just remember, you dont have to be exact and to match the colors listed in the manuals can be difficult if your not using an AB since they require mixing ratios.

I'm just trying to make them look nice. a good place to buy paints would be ideal. I can guess what colors are needed

Hobbywave.com is a great source for paints! But stay away from gundam markers, they just suck!

ok i'l keep that in mind. what they need is more paint kits for the gundams. every where i've looked they are sold out of the zaku paint kit/set

painting gundams is indeed a tideous & time consuming.....if u want your Gundams to look bada$$ ...u have to prime...sand & Air Brush/paint them.....hand painting is ok if u dont have any AB.....but the results ofthe later is more realistic....goodluck with it and keep us posted with some pix!!!
