The region locks are supposed to be a safety for when different regions have staggered releases, I guess to prevent importing so they can control pricing and content for each region. Long story short, they suck for the end consumer.  Congrats on the GB games though, that looks like a cool haul. Even the DS, DS lite and PSP are region free (the DSi store is region locked, but the system can still play carts from any region), so you can keep enjoying modern import handheld games too. |

Nice - I wonder which, if any, of those got ported into other markets with totally unrecognizable names or sprites.
I have a Japanese cart called "Nemesis" (it would be many years later before I realized it was actually just Gradius with a new title-graphic. It had a cool artwork on the cover, though.
And I also have Mappy, a kind of weird maze-puzzle game, which, I'm told is one of the great classics among Japanese pop-culture, and I don't think it ever got ported.

Yeah, I haven't even had a chance to play them. I've been so busy getting ready for the first day of school(tuesday) and would be at school today if they had it open, or if i just had the shut-off code for the alarm system.
hmmm, i wonder if there is a web-site that gives the American name of the Japanese game? I have a list of the eBay listed names somewhere...
