Armada Final Battle/Power Links Optimus Prime

He's out in stores. Just picked him up in a clearance sale at Kaybee. They packed him out and threw him right on the 20% off display

Anyway, this is an excellent repaint! I think Prime looks far superior in each and every mode, going from that awful barf red and boring gray-white, to a much cooler black, red, and faded blue. I think the toy is FAR more enjoyable in these colors, although the mini-con was definately better in yellow


In general, I'm very impressed by these Armada repaints. Hasbro's been repaint happy these last few years, but these repaints of Prime, Megatron, and Starscream seem absolutely necessary. Makes you wonder if they intentionally chose hideous colors the first time around to make everyone buy the repaints...

Intentionally bad colors at first....hmmm. on them.

I know hotrod will be coming out in a black and then flame paint job. It too should look better than the first release.

I've been checking K-bee for what you described. That is an awesome deal!

I was just at Kaybee an hour ago. Mine still has ONE Powerlinx Prime left, but I think they're releasing a very limited amount of them, because they only packed out two of them when the shipment came. m It's been two days since, and no other ones have packed out. Judging from the sudden increase in regular Super-con primes on the shelf, I'm wondering if they're only including two Powerlinx Primes in every case of regular Super-Con primes. Hasbro may be using them as a tactic to sell their overstock of Super-con Prime, who seems to be in overabundance EVERYWHERE. It's a dirty trick, and it would make Powerlinx Prime extraordinarily rare...

i don't think i will be getting a power link prime because i have a normal prime. it is hard to justisfly byying 2 armada of any kind. the only reason why i got the normal prime is because he is " Optimus Prime". and another reason is because i got this armada Prime for only $15. he was a store return from tru.

I can understand that. I knew about the Powerlinx repaint months ago, which kept me from buying the original. The repaint is far superior, in my opinion, but you're right. It's sort of silly to pay $50 to get the same toy again.
