So I just got my first figure from alter! Its pretty sweet, made with ABS and PVC, but i can say if there is PVC on this its friggin sturdy as hell because i cant tell the difference between it and the ABS. One word of warning, when it says 1/60 scale dont think gundam scale because this figure is 8" at best! Kinda dissappointed at that but.......... I must say that this figure is super detailed, well painted for themost part (some of the yellow neon is slightly overpainted in some areas but barely noticeable) but other then that he is painted extremely well almost like an expert modler took his hand at this. Hes mostly flat but does have a few parts that have a light metalic look to them. He also has several tiny compartments though out his boddy! Cock pit complete with miny figures, compartments for holding amo and such. Its pretty nifty but then again , its pretty expensive too and i guess anything less and you would be screaming for you money back. He has the ability to go into (for lack of a better word) hyper mode (have yet to see the anime for this) of some sorts where hes sholuder armore opens up and all sorts a fins protured, and also fins on his back. He has two combat knives and two smaller blades as well as a shotgun. All very well painted and detailed. He also comes with a nice stand that not only lists his name but basic specks of this master slave! Articulation... pretty good actually, several points of it to be had here. They did a lot of planning here because you actually have to press little latches on the arms and some other places in order to unlock thier full potential. I assume this was doen to hide joints (done extremely well) but really having to use yoru nail (or a small toothpick like device as is shown in the manual) seems a bit much just to get a couple more degrees of motion. I think they could of just used the normal double joints and such to achieve this then having all these miniture latches to try and push. One disapplointing part are his hips, he doesnt have much range because they are just to close to teh main body.you can parely get 45 degress of motion from these, but hese able to kick straight up (though the little armor plates on the fron of his leg get in the way,its still possible though). they could of extended the ball joints just a few nanometers more to give it a better degree of motion. Due to this you can get many dynamic poses beyond standing straight up. Everything else is pretty good, even has some toe movement, though thats pretty limited too but not needed either. A few thigns that they added into the packing i found a bit wired or rather redundant, was the inclusion of a hand holding one of his blades, His hand are already capable of holding any of the blades so why this one? its not even postioned in a special well either so no idea why they bothered to do this. Also, he comes with two addtional shoulder parts. These parts are stuck in the flared out mode, however the ones already on the figure are capable of of this through minor transformation, and its not all floppy either, so I dont know why they included the extra pieces. I wold of rather them wasting these pieces on addtional accessories whatever they could of been. over all its a nice figure, well detailed, nice amount of articulation and full of cool accessories, stand, and little gimmicks not usually found in a figure of this type. However, he is super expensive (around $130!!) but he did sell out pretty much everywhere (in japan anyway) so he's a keeper for me. id recomend but i know most will be turned off at the price especially finding out that its not a $12 figure... hopefully ill post more pics but who knows lol.

LOL! Frickin' awesome, MMJ. Yeah, you have to take some pics of this piece, man. Then again, maybe not, as I'll then have to go on a ravenous search to buy one! Too bad about the size, but if the quality on engineering and articulation are present then obviously that's a good thing. Price-point on this figure definitely made me second guess a purchase.

I remember being super excited about this figure when it was first announced in... I guess 2006, was it? Then it got delayed ... and delayed... and got more expensive ... then was revealed to be all plastic ... eventually I wrote it off and was happy to learn about the Robot Damashii version coming out from Bandai.
... but now that I have a few RD's (Nirvash Spec2 and The END) and have been generally unimpressed with those, I'm thinking about this figure again, haha. The joint system sounds interesting. Any possibility of out-of-box pics?

Not that it will be nearly as detailed, or expensive for that matter, but don't forget about the Revoltech version coming out in November...
That looks all kinds of cool and will fit in quite well with the Revo Laevatein...

Hey, if you ever want me to take pictures of a figure for you, you can always send it to me. I'd send it back. Honest! oh yeah really!!! whats your address again!?! lol nice one q, maybe if i really start up my own review section and i have money to send figures back and fourth id consider your "no intentions to steal my toys" offer lol. In any case ill get pics on this for sure now! just dont know when lol! Yes he has a lot of accessories, actually more hands then anything! but there are other figures with even more at this price point!.... i think. I am also curious as how the other arblest will fare, it seems everyone and thier mother are doing full metal panic figures now (kinda like linebarrels but thats sorta died down).

Nein. Couldn't justify it. Didn't like the show, trying to save money, didn't like the look of it vs. the megahouse versions.

never watch the anime so mech doesnt bother me lol, but i was interested in the black version.....CMS looks taller and actually supposed comes with more accessories, havent seen any reviews for it though..... and yeah, twice the price of megahouse (which is very awesome i might add) but does change into overdrive mode, making it the only version that does so. I hear alter is doing one too, wonder how that will fair.

For what it's worth, I appreciate the pics.
I was tempted to get it instead of the RD... but in the end $$ won out. This one has a nicer finish and more details, but the RD has the advantage of companion mecha if I want them.

why thank you quin!! wink wink lol
Well, Alter revealed plans at this past WF to release at least two others, but I would guess it depends on how well these do.
However, I think ill stick with RD after this purchase, In fact, the RD seems to have a few more accessories (the paten mouth dagger holder) it also seems to be much more poseble in the ole leg department. It will be smaller and less detailed, and loose a lot of nifty gimmicks, but a heck of a lot cheaper especially if you want to collect the hole line.
If this version was capable of more dynamic poses, i wouldnt feel as bad at paying almost 130 for it after shipping. but alas, still cool to have i guess. I would be interested if they made a levathian mode thoguh.
BTW I like the design of this and the fact that its not gundam.
