 Now don't laugh. I have been doing some thinking and knowing how Bandai operates, Astro Boy/Tetsuwan Atom would be a perfect choice. He has a new TV show that's a hit, a new toyline both in Japan and North America, I believe his Manga has never stopped being produced, and he has a new video game coming out soon. This would bridge the gap between the classic robot buyers and new fans who are just discovering Astro Boy for the first time. Few will argue that Astro Boy is not a Super Robot and with Bandai using light up features in GX-24, it would be a easy to give Astro a light up heart. |

Astro boy is cool, but I sure hope they don't come out with him (yet). I'd prefer to see a Raideen or eva bad guys or a Mazinkaiser, or a Big O and on and on and on......

Omni Existence here, got lazy again. On topic, Miracle House/Aoshima got dibs on Mazinkaiser, and the other Shin Seiki Gokins like Shin Getter, Neo Getter. Bandai got dibs on the classic designs. No way, (at least not in a long while) we're seeing Bandai Mazinkai. |

I agree, I have trouble getting into Astro Boy...More big hulking machines of destruction thank you very much! ;D

...If I remember right (from the oldskool toon) Astro could kick Big-hulking bots, so in a way he is more of a superbot than the Mazingers. If he is released as a SOC, I'll buy him because he has just as much sentimental meaning for me as Mazinger.

Aaarrrggghhh, you guys are :PTERRIBLE:P. Astroboy was my first encounter with Japanese animation back in 1964. (I know, I'm doin' the old fart gig here  ) I remember for a while, that the whole world had to stop every afternoon so I wouldn't miss the show. Tetsuan Atom and T-28 are the proto-types of the whole Japanese robot tradition. I'd welcome Astroboy. But then again if you've seen the show, the toy is appealing. If you don't have fond memories of the series, the figure may seem too disturbingly (dare I say it) cute to share a shelf with weapons of interplanetary war. But trust me on this one- Astroboy is Bad to the Bone. JWM |

I'm a big Astroboy fan too! I can't wait for the Gameboy Advance game to come out! I'd buy an Astroboy chogokin any day!
Astro was able to kick the butt of robots huger than he was as he's got a one-million horsepower engine, making him the most powerful (in his world). An interesting thing about Astro is that all the characters in Astroboy would be used in other projects by the creator, but they'd keep the same face and name. Even the recent anime "Metropolis," all those characters (including the blue robo) are all Astroboy mainstays and keep their original names from the Astroboy manga.

Why? I'm looking at my Combattler vehicles, and the Battle Machine 3, clamped under the Battle Machine 4. is basically the Satellizer from Danguard Ace! ...yes, I am bored, and have nothing to do. |

i belive you jwm but you know its still different for me, not that i dont like him, i like astroboy too. he just doesnt do much for me compared to say maz and the others. to each his own. :-)
