Hi all!
I've got huge sentimental attachement to the Fei Yen Virtual on character for a few non-videogame related reasons. I have hunted for a kit of her for five years now and i've finally found one on ebay.
After it arrived i noticed something: The kit is terrible quality. I guess this is to be expected of 90s WAVE kits... but still it was a bit disheartening.
My model making skills would be adequate for a tight, well designed kit... but i don't know about a low quality one like this...
Should i just leave it in the box and use the box as the display? What do you think?

well i would say go for it to build it up, that way you could have a feel to when your building. plus it will give you some experience when next time you find a kit of this kind you know what to do or not.
You can leave it in the box if you want if you worry about building her because of the quality of the material.

Hmm didn't koto make a kit of recently? Then there is the action figure if you can find one. But I say this unless you plan reselling this some day then why not give it a shot! Even if you mes up you'll still have the box lol. Of course you could always commission it by a talented builder. Quite a few on this board actually

I would say build it. Here are some things I've learned while model building
Patience is needed. take your time, let that paint dry good. just cause its dry to the touch doesn't mean it is. let it sit overnight
patience and patience. you don't need to finish it the same day or week. I know you want to see it finished but take your time. If it takes a day to finish a foot, so be it
in the end all your hard works pays off when you can display it.
now if I can only follow my advice and finish an ingram I started 8 years ago

Kit building is fun to do. And it's a hobby, not something you should rush to get complete. It's not homework and it's not work. There is no deadline. But the process itself should be fun, so if you aren't having fun doing it, don't do it. Look over the plans, and judge for yourself. It might not look like the pictures on the box, because those are done by pros. Unless you have the talent and it must look exactly alike the promo pictures, otherwise, just have fun with it.
