$800 difference for the box. Wow! If I decide to try for one someday, I guess I'll have to settle for loose for a mere $3-400

I lost both of those auctions....those links are salt in the wounds. In fact I couldn't believe my f*in luck to have this auction go at the same time this thread gained steam.
PLEASE someone out there let me know if you can source RK. Lately I've been wanting to network and find a few missing items.
It has been very disappointing to me lately. -grumbles-

ED, I also wanted to bid on Robo Kress (Auction No2, link from Erik). Just wanted to send my maximum bid to Tokyobuyers...but than suddenly.....Biiiing...Robo Kress went from 12k to 118k...cool timing... a "bit"over my maximum. So no mail to Tokyobuyers. That was the end of my "Kressdream" I'm not ready (mental) to pay >1k $ for this robo. But Bullmark Robo Kress rocks!

HAA Erik! You are killin' me. YES, I probably will be @ the Morph gatherin'. Honestly, though, I expect it to be setting new price records. There will be a good deal of hype and ads (probably in a good way). Sooo.... this may mark the end of affordability for Robo Kress for me at least. I actually find it to be at an odd price when you consider the small Daibaron is so much more affordable; it is very close to the same toy. Then the "Half" Daibaron DX is a steal compared to this. .....it is just that I am a friggin' completeist and it IS cool. It is just difficult for me to say it is "over $1000" cool, etc. A fair amount of the time in our hobby I find that toys trend UP then trend DOWN based on discussions just like this. Timing sucks. BTW, I've found there to be some superb networking to build my collection lately. I know you laugh, but friends have really come through lately. This IS A PLOY Erik! You are the Godfatha' pullin some evil strings LOL ...baiting me with Robos all the way to Morphy. -snif- **smothers depression with coffee and sausage** LOL

"Trending"
Exactly! When I was in "teh market" for the DX Gattiger several years back, it was crazy expensive at the time, with some specimens in the range that I wanted selling for as much as 800-1000. I finally found a mis-listed one. Later, the toy dropped to extreme lows and I was able to pick another up for a ridiculously low price that would make some people weep with frustration.
Kress is still in my mind, along with only a few other "Holy Grail" pieces for my shelf. After that, it's all cake and icing. Good luck out there!

kress is rare, but not as expensive as Techincal mekanda. Same thing with young daibaron. if you want rare- when was the last time you saw the gold ryotsu? or the yusha version of god-reideen? too bad I missed the ebat auction for the red phoenix. 2600 USD is a steal for that piece.

yeah i have the yusha version i might be able to take it out this weekend, I have to make some space in the closets so the chickie can store some of her summer dresses that she got from her modeling gigs.
saito is cheap. i would have paid 7500-8000 USD for the toy. last time i saw in on YJ it sold for about 600,000 JPY MIB. I wanted to lift it, but i was also bidding on a MIB blakc daltanias at the same time.

Dude! You never told me you had the Black Daltanias. Next trip I'm going to make more time for us to hang out than last time.
Saito just bought everything on the cheap back in the day. His collection is insane man..

the height of the hobby? no not really. it is an expensive piece and it is probably in the top 10, or 5, in terms of diecast, but there are rarer, and if you speak of non-commercially available toys it becomes a different story. in terms of cost and rarity, mekanda is up there, but there are rarer toys that cost less.

This one is for quiet some time on Yahoo. A few times relisted...but a bit too expensive.
