I do believe that Daibaron Half DX have become the rarest among Bullmark toys , or maybe other vintage toys for that matter. Been looking for it for over a year and none so far surfaced.
In the meantime , I saw other elusive clover vintage toys went out at least twice each : the Zambo Ace non combiner, Gundam White Base
I also saw rare Bullmark toys such Mekanda at least twice , one black shoulders and the other , like mine , blue shoulders
I also have seen Takemi Pegas and Sanzen Gakeen three times in a space of a year , and these are supposed to be the most elusive vintage mecha
have seen all the other rare Takemi at least once as well
The only contender for Daibaron Half DX's perfect disappearance is Combattler in Box. I do not mention Voltes because they are so many variants of the toy and many of them surfaces in various conditions
So , to me , Daibaron Half DX has topped the list of the most elusive

Well, the seperate chest and legs boxes of the Half DX just sold in the last couple of weeks, but yeah, I have yet to see the combined Half DX set sell in the past year+ in ANY condition. It's definitely a very hard one to find, even if you have bags of cash to throw at it. Hell, I've seen a MIB complete GA01 first version in the past year, but still no Half Dx set. But good hunting to you on it - one will show up at some point, I'm sure.
I personally think the Diapolon UFO's are equally hard to get, as I have yet to see ANY of those show up either.

ouch...I always watch yahoo japan very three days or so and to think that I missed the auction....  . Was it in yahoo japan, though? I saw a MIB and complete Daipolon Combined Deluxe Box just some months ago. Beautiful condition...but wondeful end of auction as well ;D |

The chest and the legs have both shown up several times this year alone. The Combined "set" I have not seen for sale online since last year. I saw one for sale in Japan earlier this year for $1K. I should have just bought it..

Drake, I'd say you are going from specifics to general statements. These are extra ordinary times, so there have been some choice toys surfacing a couple of times. So we need to be careful about "rarity" conclusions over this year and last All toys you mentioned are tough....sales cycle. You happen to be looking at a time when people are in financial distress. So the goodies will show up |

Did anyone mention the Takara Gakeen, the Sanzen smaller Gakeen....? The list goes on. It is all timing.
It should also be interesting to see how things change, if at all, after the Morphy auction.

Are we calling the half DX, the "Medium sized" Dx? Yes. Yessiry, they have - even the last month or two has seen some quite rare pieces show up. Don't think it will change much after that. With all the dealers/flippers trying to get in on the action, I don't see any bargain finds anytime soon - and I still expect to see some rare pieces offered up relatively regularly for the next 6 months at least. |

I dunno about the Daibaron half, or young or middle or whatever being the rarest. It is definitely not the most expensive, and I have seen the DX box set several times. There was one at a store I frequent on ocassion until early this year going for 150,000 yen (I forget) and it was there for about a year. People who have been to the same store can back me up.
I have seen in on auction numerous times. I haven't seen it in recent history (6 months?), but I also haven't seen a DX Black daltanias go for sale in much longer or a red DX godphoenix for about 3 years either.

the DX robokress is probably about as rare as the young daibaron DX. I also think that the the ships from daiapolon are also rare.

MIB Black Daltanious was on Yahoo JP about a year ago for 1 million yen. Don't recall if it sold at that, but I'm sure someone would have picked it up, either private or otherwise. Flaming Phoenix was on ebay about a year and a half ago. It was boxed and I think complete IIRC and sold for either $1600 or $2600 (sorry, memory not the greatest). |
