Also, I think a ton of people in the hobby will be crying when the lots arrive. Pieces are missing and they were loved/used. SO.... if they expected MIB toys that compare to MIB New old stock sales records, then there will be sorrow. You can't equate, or shouldn't try to equate, a Yahoo Japan sale of new old stock to the Morphy sales. Each lot deserved to be inspected in person. E This is not good to hear. I won 3 lots by absentee bidding. Each was described as MIB. I had assumed since we had the entire TBDX crew there doing the descriptions that MIB really meant MIB. Are you saying this is not the case - that some lots described as MIB were very much not MIB?

Many things were quite acceptable to me, but you'll have to see yours. The few beaters were mostly the boxes, with good toys inside.
You have to remember the whole auction was all stuff that WAS taken out of the boxes, and put on a pro collector's glass display case shelves over the years to enjoy, not just keep in box, in storage. Very well cared for overall, but not just case-fresh store stock.
A few chips, and pieces, some may have been from the years, some may have been just from the handling, transporting, shelving for this event, but mostly minor stuff.
Keep in mind almost the entire collection arrived at Morphy's LOOSE from the display cases, with all the empty boxes, and parts having to be matched up to the items. That' s why the guys had to be called in, not just to open boxes of new stuff and check the contents. It all had to be put together.
The diecast pieces I got were in crisp boxes, and foam, and better that 90% of what you'll see pop up on ebay/yahoo.

But for instance the Robo Kress had a few small fragments of paint falling off because of the rough sand casting. It was a bit of a fish "scale " effect. The GA-50 looked spot on MIB. The Getta Robo G base appeared broken to me....not even working once . The Getta 1 base had a few chips but was in very good condition. Some boxes were near dead stock. The Robocon Gorilla had a thrashed box, but a few more scratches toy when seen in person. -Case by case.
