Looks a lot more silly than I originally thought. Hopefully, they'll use better plastic and paint on the real thing.

Dang, hope the price won't be that high, and it does need better paint scheme.

The original proto pics looked good. THis one wreaks of fugliness!!! Anyways, I am still planning on getting a Takara and Hasbro version of the toy. Hope my budget holds out though.

Saw the link on toyboxDX, from what they're saying there that's a prototype without the metal painted, so I'd expect the final version will be a lot better. At least we get to see where the diecast is, seems to be the chest and lower legs.

Correct me if I am wrong, but from that pic, and the other prototype pic (from the expo IIRC), they used metallic paints on the Alternator Prime.
It doesn't look too well on that toy IMHO. I would prefer if they used FLAT MATTE paints for this toy.

Yep. I was pretty damned amazed to see that! All the same, not sure I'll pull out the cash for this one. He looks super cool, but I'm a player, not a collector, and this Prime just isn't compatible with any other Transformer. You can transform him to and fro and then the fun's over with

The webmaster at the site I mod at posted these last night: toynewsi.com/news.php?itemid=1812The bot mode looks excellent, but the semi mode looks like not all the pieces fit together properly, and I hope some refinement is done before it's released.

Now that looks better! Although, I can't say the same for the neckpiece. Looks like it's sitting on a balljoint.

Looking at the chest area, is that his bumper inside it, seems the lower part where the front wheels are goes on top. And the side covers swing and replace the chest.

Just by looking at the photos I think it transforms like PMOP's cab section did from the waste up, with it opening up from the rear. to expose Prime's bot mode. At least his legs look backwards with the front of the legs on top of the rear portion of the truck mode. Prime's bot mode also has a different grill than his truck mode, which is why I think he transforms more like PMOP, but the front windows somehow twist around. Looks like a rotating point right beneath the windows.

I really like what I'm seeing with that design. AMAZING!

I like the bot mode, but the truck mode has too many gaps in it to where it needs a bit of refining IMO.
