I've been drooling over the miniature versions of the Popy/Godaikin Dairugger XV and GoLion figures since I started collecting again. A few months ago I actually scored 2 of the mini GoLions, and was on a quest to score a mini Dairugger. robotjapan.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=14879&page=1I'd lusted after the Dairugger ever since I saw this article: www.collectiondx.com/review/abs/dairugger_xvWell - I took a chance on what I thought was one hidden on ebay, and what a surprise when it arrived tonight: Not only was I surprised, but the figure is actually VERY different from the one on the Collection DX page. In the first place, the figure is larger, and has die-cast parts as well as firing fists and other moving gimicks. In fact, the transformation is nearly identical to the larger DX toy. It's extremely detailed with small moving parts, firing fists, etc. The only (major) differences are that the shoulder Heli's and head don't remove from the torso, and the legs do not separate. However, the arms have both elbow and twisting articulation not found in the DX, and the knees bend. Nice additions! As you can see the toy is very detailed, and it does combine into the three separate Land, Sea and Air Rugger vehicles. Here he is next to a fistless DX. I can never remember how the feet and legs are supposed to match. And lastly next to the Mini GoLion KO. As an interesting bonus, the packaging and the instruction manual are all in English. So it's some sort of US K.O. Does anyone have information on this toy at all? What's the genesis of the figure? It's very well made, with lots of detail and die-cast for a re-engineered KO. Was there a Popy version of Dairugger made this small?

Woo, nice score. Very interesting dig up there.
Looks like a KO of the Popy Kikokantai Dairugger xv. There's pics around. It's the one in a brownish, encyclopedia/book type looking box. Same breakdown. Very cool.

Beautiful! Coincidentally I just finished off Vehicle Voltron (man, as an adult now I can spot the edits and new dialogue so easily; what do you mean they got to an escape shuttle?!). But it's given me the urge to track down some Voltron toys. But if you're saying these KO are easy to find for cheap then maybe I'll go for these instead.

This particular KO is VERY difficult to find. This is the only one I'd ever seen. I got it cheap beacuse I took a chance as the pictures and description were unclear. Your best bet is to get the Matchbox DX version of the toy.

I just got this figure and it is sweet!! So hard to find! It was all complete in box except missing the yellow leg piece. I took a chance hoping to find that part down the road. But I would have never have gussed the part I needed showed up at almost the same time!! It also came with the red leg piece that goes with this set. But seller was not careful and packed a bunch of pieces in same bag thrown together and 2 sets of wheels was broke on the yellow and 1 set on the red. I was able to easily take the good off the red to complete the part I needed. I would have been sooo mad, I actually wanted to keep the red leg piece as an extra so I am going to superglue them together and reattach them to leg. At least I got what I needed and nothing is broke or missing in my set now. It was meant to be that these parts showed up in a junk lot.

Yes there was a Popy version of this made. Its more diecast than this one. Like the Dx Dairugger-XV it is also numbered as the GB-72. It was released only in Japan. It comes in a red felt box with gold lettering on the outside that states Dairugger-XV Deluxe, with a gold and red Bandai oval near the bottom. One was on eBay for years but finally sold around last Christmas. I wanted to buy it but never could put down $400 for a small robot. I settled with this same KO version. Very cool.

If you look on the bottom of the copters/arms you should see the GB-72. Mine has it. The Popy version has GB-72 stamped on each vehicle with the Popy and Bandai symbols. Only the copters on this KO still have the GB-72 stamp. This at least tells me the arms, if not all the parts were directly molded or copied from the Popy version.

Good catch on the copter parts! I have not looked at mine yet but I will post if they are too. Such a cool piece and being able to display them as the land, sea, and air teams is awesome. I would have gladly traded my matchbox dairugger for this, well since I do have more than one and they are easy to get.

Did you check it yet? Did it have the GB-72 on the copper bottoms?
