Got this in the mail today - thought I would share. I'm now exactly ONE toy away from a complete Godaikin collection. This one you're not going to see very often, and it's a variant to boot! While the Sentai Changeman toy is not *exactly* rare and is certainly a cool toy, what you almost never see is the Godaikin version. What's interesting, is that in the US "Changeman" was released as "MACHINEMAN" (not to be confused with "Machine Dolphin"). This was one of the last few toys released as part of the GODAIKIN FORCES line in 1985. What you see here is the European/French release of the toy, still called "CHANGEMAN" - same as the Sentai. Of course, if you read the type on the back of the box in the text the character is referred to as MACHINEMAN. I'm not 100% sure, but I *believe* that Bandai ALSO released Changeman outside the Godaikin line in Europe as a separate figure. I think I've seen a box that's the same as the Japanese toy with English writing, but my memory may be escaping me. The box was TOTALLY beat when I got it, and I spent several hours with a heat gun carefully removing about 5000 pieces of tape from all around the box. I glued and reinforced it from the inside and replaced the clear cellophane. I also carefully cleaned the package getting 24 years worth of grime and dirt off it - it's about as good as I can do - far from perfect but much more presentable. So there you go - the rare Sentai Changeman, relased as Godaikin MACHINEMAN, European variant box CHANGEMAN. How's that for confusing. And here's the condition of the box. www.albertpenello.com/godaikin/changeman box.jpg[/img]

LOL... I have a funny mental picture of YOU vs. the TAPE. It is a super odd toy to find in the Godaikin lineup. If you have a deep interest, I have a U.S. Godaikin boxed one I can dig up. I've only seen these for sale a handfull of times in English packaging; never in a European box. Congrats on the purchase. Ed

I'm producing a video this evening, so yes, pictures are coming . It looks VERY similar, in fact the box looks the same minus the dual language details. It will have closeups of the stampings for reference. E
