I believe the last one in the bunch was hoist or inferno. I haven't bought soundwave out of the belief that he could end up as a hasbro reissue.

Good news and bad news for ya...
There will be more reissues. The latest in the computers at TRU are:
Wave 6: Smokescreen, Grapple Wave 7: Rodimus Prime, Dirge
Last I heard from Hasbro there are no plans to reissue Soundwave (They claim it's not "cost effective" due to all the retooling Takara had to do on the mold...since if Hasbro released it too they'd have to help pony up the dough for the restoration....)

Ouch!
I hadn't heard any news about the line stopping. Why would Hasbro have to pay extra to use Takara's work?

Hasbro and Takara are seperate companies. Hasbro owns the American rights to TF, but Takara designed them, and Takara is the only one who saved the molds. If Hasbro wants to reissue a G1 Transformer, they have to purchase the mold from Takara, that charges an amount based partially upon what it cost to make the mold. If the mold was expensive to restore, Hasbro gets charged more for it.

I did notice that the Soundwave re-issue has a different control set-up for its cassette controls from my original 1986 version. Even Laserbeak's head is slightly different.

The Sondwave re-issue was in fact from a slightly retooled Soundblaster mold (Soundblaster being the reborn Soundwave after he gets killed by Blaster in the first couple of episodes of the Jap only series Headmasters circa 1987). The only differences between the toys of Soundwave and Soundblaster was that Soundblaster was Black as opposed to blue, and that he could now hold two cassettes in his chest. Because of this new gimmick the chest design ws slightly modified. When Takara came to re-issue Soundwave, their original molds were not in a good condition so they opted to use their Soundblaster mold but change it so only one cassette would fit. As for Laserbeak, I believ he is jus a re-coloured Buzzaw who had no ridge on top of his head.
