sorry couldn't find the thread that showcase version 1 vs 2.
if the mods are able to find it you can combine this with that one.
just got vf-1s ver 2. it really is better vs version 1 despite only having the t-bar and inner chest as diecast.
The knee twist in version 2 makes a better gerwalk mode than version 1 where the twist is in the shins.
And my version 1. 1/60 milia will be now forever fixed as a valkryie since in battroid mode its not really playable. Without the t-bar from version 2 to lock the chest to its back, the chest doesnt lock in place and doesn't feel poseable compared to version 2.
I underestimated the the new improvements version 2 made. If only it had the same diecast content it would have been sweeter.

I think it's funny how both 1/60 versions are suppose to be the exact same scale are vastly different in size.

Just wanted to say thanks for finding that post for me... I've been debating getting the V2 1/60 VF-1A Hikaru (it's the one major variation that's sadly not representing in my collection)... glaringly obvious after the additions of the past year including my jacket with the "011" theme and my red DYRL helmet... but believe me, I still haven't decided because from what I gather, it predates the latest "shoulder-fix" (which started in April 2009 with the VF-1S Max; VF-1A Hikaru was September 2008)... hmm...

I recently got into Yamato VFs. Due to curiosity I got the Ver. 1 last week here at Singapore. Due to my partial disappointment with the figure, I immediately purchased version 2s. And I'm very happy with them. The version 2 is light and really fun to handle due to its transformation gimmick as compared with the clunky compartmental transformation scheme of the ver. 1. I don't mind the use of plastic on the legs on the version 2 as opposed to the version 1s die-cast legs. For me it was a good construction decision by Yamato making the toy very solid, sturdy and functional as a toy. Worth the money in my opinion. Version 1 just serves as nostalgia.

Version 1 makes better paper weight. It just weighs more.

Yup. Scorched earth is credible.
2008 V2s have rough pins.

i dont get it.... ? whats the difference between a ... Potentially bad shoulders (far less frequency than the first four releases.. allegedly Yamato urged the factories to be more careful at this point… hell of a fix vs. a rumored to be safe shoulder?
