So the othe other day (years back actually) I had the chance to purchase a Bullmark Robo Kress from a guy overseas. -Didn't understand the toy or pricing at the time, so I passed. Damn, that killed me to later find out how good the opportunity was. Then as fate would have it, 5 years later, things finally worked out.

Taunting me with your Bullmark RoboKress. For shame! I have a very similar story about this same toy, but I won't bore anyone with a repeat. Still looking. The one I will share is the MIB Bullmark Angilas that I missed about 5-6 years back. So sad! I should have pushed a little harder and it would have been mine. I will never touch one for that price, in that condition, again. I guess my loose beaters will have to suffice until I hit the lottery.

besides a brand new mint Golion for 200 bux (to young to have money and at the time and that was way overpriced..this was the early 80's guys), it would have to be a takatoku valkyrie set with all the strike gear and perfect box. I wasn't a hardcore collector back then, and it was at a teeny comic shop in the mall for 70 bux. I remember thinking darn that's way too much for a robot toy, but as an avid collelctor now, that is childs play. then again I was working part time at mcdonalds for like less than 5 bux an hour.

@ Magengar-- Yes, a V8 and then a beer @ Sketcher-- Should I ask about the pricing on that Angillas and RK? No, I'm not taunting on the robokress, just sharing since it hadn't had a good picture on RJ. @ chachipower. -sigh- Yes, that Strike has become an expensive asset

I was only kidding on the taunting. Glad you posted that pic, and congratulations on the score. Such a great piece! The Angilas went for 300, MIB. If only I had raised my ceiling a bit more. Kress was somewhere in the same area. Again, this piece is crazy expensive now.

I have owned and sold the same Takatoku 1/40 Orguss Orgroid Olson Type 3 times over. Bought it, sold it. Regretted that and bought it back. Sold it. Regretted it and bought it back. Then sold it again when I found one in better condition. Luckily, each time I bought it back, I got it for less than I sold it for because it was years in between each time and the value fluctuated. Kind of funny to ship out the same toy 3 times to 3 different people.

Hey, is that my shadow in the background? Yeah, damn right. You know it. I had the pleasure of witnessing Ed pull this baby out of the box for this photo session. Be jealous. Be very jealous. I should have... run out the door once you put that Takemi Pegas in my hands! Maybe I should post that pic you sent me.

HA! Ed's just mad some sweet little German granny beat the stuffing out of him at Morphy's bidding on the RoboKress!
Sweet stories everybody. I've sure got some, but my memory's freaking shot tonight. I'll be back.
EDIT: Oh, yeah, Morphy's Auction. Many things. So unprepared...rassa-frassa...

Fall last year. I had recently purchased my Pla Dlx Getter G base, and the exchange rate had tanked, so I was in no rush to spend big cash.
A case of three Jumbo Grip G4's shows up mint with original seals still in tact. I expect it to go for major loot, and opening price isn't so cheap, so I don't pay it any serious attention.
Another item I'm after ends minutes before the Grips. I get in a bidding war with someone on the first item and forget about them as they end. Bottom line, one bidder, 50k yen takes it. They're worth at least 3-4 times that. To add insult, I lose the bidding war on the first item.
That day is still painfull to think about.

Actually, there is a Shoulda I do have: Back when I joined RJ and started collecting figs so fast in a short time, I Shoulda stood Focused on what I wanted to collect... ...strictly Mazinger robots, and for that time Only MAZINGER-Z; that way I coulda spent my money wisely getting the exact Mazinger items I did wanted. Then after MZ, I'd go for Great Maz and then later go after Mazinkaiser. There's just sooo many Mazinger-related stuff I grail for that I'd like to have.
Don't get me wrong, I have No regrets acquiring other figures besides Mazinger, just so I can drool over having all them robot toys on my shelves. Since then I think I'll concentrate more on Maz, because he's the robot I'm most familiar with.

My "Should haves..."-story is also long time ago (90ties). The subject had been a few Mattel Astro Robot Jumbo machinders. At this time I only knew the usual Shogon Warriors Jumbos and when these Astro Robot Jumbos from italy crossed my way I didn't really know what they are. Didn't had a clue that they are Machine Blaster characters.....hahahha...didn't even know what Machine Blaster was. ;D But I liked them and bought 2 of the 4 for an incredible low price (compared with the prices today). Ok better 2 than nothing Today I could kick me in my own butt that I didn't bought all of them. There are many many more "should haves", but if I bought everything over the years...there would be nothing to collect today ;D

unfortunately i have waaay too many regrets on too many items. there have been items i had watched for a couple weeks only to fall asleep right before an auction ends. of course those auctions usually end with a disgustingly cheap price.

But this is DIFFERENT. This is an $800-1000 item sold for $80. It's hard enough to see one in this condition, then have it available for that price... Oh my....
