I just got mine this Christmas Eve....the Takara version...........it sure is worth the WAIT and the price! It is heavy.......really heavy, the gray rifle isn't all that bad. And the smokestacks simply BURNS! No wonder the Hasbro version are totally messed up! Take a look at the japanese package....it reads 15 years and up..........fairly responsible enthusiasts unlike the Hasbro Prime....you read 5 years old? Always after a fast buck...Hasbro that is, but that is another topic. I say again....if you can afford it, get the better version....tall smokestacks so you can relive the TRANSFORMER experience! Now if only Takara will design a kick ass Megatron Masterpiece? hint...hint.... ;D

I got mine too on my day off, it was the 23rd and one great toy to end the year (for me that is ;D).
Now I can rest my poor wallet for a little while.

The fool thing is huge and heavy. I've seen pictures of it but once you get it on your hands you'll still get overwhelmed. Very pose-able he can even do the finger lol. The transformation is fairly easy once you get the hang of it just like Smokescreen, but just like Smokescreen the manual is crap. The same white drawings over black, you can barely tell what your supposed to turn. And a little typo on the box itself: More than meets teh eye - lol No problem with the toy only the manual and box that comes with it  So goes to show how beautiful this toy is, you can only nitpick the box and manual ;D |

More than Meets the Eye! Merry Christmas kimosabes! Covoy Rocks!!!!!!!! Oh....Hasbro's good too, only Takara presents the package much better! Y'know the japanese, its always the presentation that counts!

Hey, what is the scoop on the trailer of cardboard? I've seen a seller offer it with his Takara MP.
Is this standard, a bootleg, or a special offer trailer?

Ed another trick of the [e-bay] trade... offering something as an added extra when in reality its standard for a certain release....remember seeing this kind of scheme for the HK exclusive SOCs Evas too with the glass base. ;D YUPS.....the 'paper' trailer is standard for the Takara version (actually its the inner carton that can be folded up into the trailer). |

I never would’ve imagined that just getting this thing mailed to me would be so frustrating! First I had no EMS tracking for 9 days and then I had to go through 3 days of knowing he was only a few miles away from me. My MPOP was supposed to arrive on Saturday but I was out when the mailman came, I live in a gated community and so the mailman can't come to my doorstep. So I thought I could just use that orange ticket that they leave you to go pick him up on Monday. Two more days of torture followed. I went to pick him up at the post-office on Monday but the clerk told me to go back to try to catch the mailman because he was attempting redelivery. I had a gut feeling that he was attempting the redelivery while I was at the post-office, and sure enough I just missed him and so another orange ticket. I go back to the post-office on Tuesday and I half expected that the clerk would tell me to do the same thing. YUP, had to go play tag again and of course I just missed him, AGAIN!! So I called to tell them to hold it for me because I wasn’t sure if they would deliver today. I went back to the post-office today and now I finally have my long awaited X-mas present (from myself, to myself heh heh). All I can say (or add to what has already been said in countless threads) is, THIS SUCKER IS PERFECT!!! And just like that, the ordeal I went through is nothing compared to the joy of finally having a toy we've been waiting 20 years for. Hopefully it doesn't take another 20 years to get a perfect trailer...  |

As you can see in GDomino's pics, the trailer cardboard box IS included in the package. See the wheels printed on the box! Don't be fooled by scam artists selling it as a separate item. Unless Takara is indeed selling a special ed. trailer.

At least the wait, the torture, and the sweat was well worth it ;D Yups, well worth it... A friend of mine was blown away that this toy can transform. Prime really does seem more like a 12' action figure in his robot mode than a transforming toy. And I'm really impressed with the way the hands and the lower legs retract. Every thing fits tightly in both modes. He also has many tiny details that I'm only now noticing; the the knee joints and wrist joints have hydraulic details (never saw these in the many pics I've seen)!!! If I had him sooner, he would've been my TOTY pick. |

Just got him.. Takara 20th Prime..
I tried pressing blue his light up button.. No light came on.
His chest plate is open and the matrix is exposed.
Are batteries included..
Also how do you take out the batteries.. more specifically the light box that holds the matrix..
Any step by step pictures.. I'm too chicken to do it without any help..

Hello, I got an email from Akhihabara Toys that they will ship my Takara Optimus Prime today!!! ;D I can not wait.....  This is just my second Optimus..my first is the Armada. The Optimus Armada, if not for the automatic transformation.....that toy would be a crap!  The toy looks like a friggin buildingof some sort from the side view. |
