Bought a blue Aoshima Tread and Legioss off Ebay, I'm gonna see how they are but with prices on these pretty reasonable I'm probably gonna get the red and green ones since these ships are a huge part of my childhood. I've seen pre-orders for the Shadow Fighter Beta for awhile but I'm not sure if it's still coming out? If so I'm gonna have to find a MPC Shadow Fighter, also did anyone get the Maia Sterling MPC? If so how's the quality?

Chen, you probably already know it but there's a sale on the Aoshima's Treads, if you're interested in getting the rest of the Mospeada squadron I got a great deal on CM's red Legioss and Tread during HLJ's black friday sale (10000 yens shipped). I have to say I love it. It looks phenomenal when displayed next to Rook's ride armor, I'll post some pictures soon!

Thanks, just found out bout that sale just now! Any idea how long the sale will last? I would like to wait and see how the blue one turns out when I get it but I might just have to take a plunge a buy these when I get paid.

It ends February 14th and I don't think they are going to sell out soon, you've plenty of time to grab one By the way how is the MPC Alpha you've got, did anything fell apart yet? Let me know if you need to fix it, I have completely taken apart my green Aoshima to repaint it in a dark shade of military green and I also did some tightness upgrades on the shoulders while it was disassembled.

I haven't recieved it yet, I'm not worried about the Beta but the Alpha does have me concerned though. I'm not gonna transform it to many times since I know these are pretty delicate. I'll still get the other two colors for sure but I just wish the QC on the Alphas/Legioss were better so I wouldn't have second thoughts about getting the Shadow versions (if the Beta comes out) or the Maia version. But considering that Mospeada products are pretty much at a standstill you don't have much of a choice.

Well my blue Alpha and Beta arrived in the mail today but I missed it so I gotta pick it up. But I did buy a green and red Alpha off Ebay for $54 bucks each plus the HLJ sale of the red and green Beta's for around $75 each was a great deal. Can't wait to have all of them together but I'm thinking these things will be shelf hogs so I gotta find space somehow lol.

I'll be crossing my fingers for the quality of your Alphas.

You've done some great deals I see, congratulations! I hope you got the Aoshima versions of the green and red Legioss because the Toynami MPC's colors don't match the Treads that are on sale at HLJ. Aoshima's Legioss are a little better too, at least it seems so to me, because of the ratcheting hips and the hands don't crumble like on the MPC but they also come with some specific problems which are mostly : - the upper part of the arm (right side on the 2 of mine) doesn't go down all the way when extended in armo-soldier - The wings don't go in on one side (there's a locking system that requires to push the wings in when in armo-fighter mode). - crooked head The last two problems will need you to unseat some pins to be corrected while I could only fix the first issue by sawing the shoulder pad in two, sanding the piece down and supergluing the shoulder back together. btw I used a photo etched saw, it's not very hard and it also allows you to replace the weak friction joint in the shoulder which will disintegrate over time anyway
And you'll need a LOT of space!

Thanks guys! First off I have to say the Beta/Tread is amazing, solid heavy and with no noticeable flaws, if you can buy one just by itself it's worth it. The Alpha/Legioss on the other hand, well is a little sloppy you can tell from the pics that it just doesn't go together well with ill fitting parts. Nothing seems broken but honestly I haven't transformed it since I hear the blue ones are the worse. On the positive side, when it's all stickered up it looks half decent plus combined this thing is huge! I honestly don't know where I'll keep it once I get the red and green ones. So would I buy an Alpha by itself? Probably not but because of the Beta I would and did. Anyways here's some crappy pics.

Tons of stickers to put on, which I hate since it took me over an hour but while doing it I had Robotech playing on my DVD and I couldn't help but hum the Robotech theme while I was putting the stickers on ;D.

Nice! It's a dirty shame Toynami has gone on record to say we won't be seeing a Maia Sterling Beta... Something about the sales not justifying it. Which is sad because the Beta got rave reviews but for most folks (myself included) we wanted to see the problems the Alpha fixed before we bought a Beta... but then it took like 2 years for the Maia Alpha to get reissued... during which time we figured out that Robotech was not only dead in the water (come on, seriously, Shadow Chronicles came out in 2006... that's 5 years ago, no sequel in sight), but also Toynami to decide none of us wanted a Maia Beta (which is untrue).

I don't mind it but after awhile at my age I get stiff lol. But yeah I'm afraid this is it for anymore Toynami Alpha's and Beta's which is a shame, BBTS had the Shadow Beta on pre-order for months now and I doubt it will ever come out. I will say this, the Alpha's have the basic design down it's just the poor execution and lack of fine tuning that just ruins the toy. I'll see how the red and green ones are but I really don't think Aoshima can really improve things to much if the basic figure itself is flawed.

Cool pics, the stickers do add a lot of appeal to these! I can't help noticing the arms of the Legioss are still too extended in fighter mode on your pics. It might be due to either the torso portion not being collapsed all the way or the legs not being completely pushed in
