More pics of the Genealogica Engage SR3 on wave's site: www.hobby-wave.com/FSS_NSP/index.htmlLooks good - hopefully there will be more where this came from. Considering the signature mechs for FSS are the Knight of Gold and the LED Mirage, I'm surprised Wave didn't lead off with one of those two (I would like both of them, eventually).

It really does mystify me why, following the Last Junchoon (which they're calling an Engage SR4 ... for some reason. I've been out of the FSS loop for about 6 years so maybe Nagano retroactively changed some stuff, I dunno), they're doing this "Knight of Gold Luminous" (which I would swear looks like a Cross Mirage. I wonder if it'll be pink) instead of a proper Knight of Gold.

I tell you what I'd love more than anything: A Bang Doll (although I guess it's just called "The Bang", now? Damnit Nagano, pick a name and STICK with it!) and an Ashura Temple (assuming they haven't changed the name of that, too?). Truly a beauty and the beast combination.

WIN for both of those designs. I love FSS mecha though i never got into the manga or anything related to it beyond some model kits (which I sold).

I have a model kit (which I have thought about selling) and I have a couple Magna. I used to have part of the DVD series, but it was really boring. At least from what I remember several years ago. It was an hour of people and 3 minutes of robot battle at the end. I like many of the designs. I also have one of the old rare action figures, but I thought about putting it up for sale as well, just to make room for more stuff like this. I am fan of their drawing style for the machines, and I like some of the ideas they present. I think this series might do well with a modern update or reboot.

So that one movie was all there was? I guess it was so lacking I was expecting there to be more movies to include other mecha and story. Did the manga go in much more depth of the other models of robots? The ones I have were printed in New Type and one book I have just has a couple robots fighting.

The movie was basically just a compilation of the first couple of mangas. A "promo" sort of work, I guess. Nagano hated it. Hah.
The whole manga is intended to be a grand space opera with galactic plots, gods-as-men, exploding planets, political madness, the whole nine yards. It's VERY in-depth, if you were disappointed with the movie's content. Nagano seems to have given up on finishing it, though.
@ gingaio: The last toy I ever buy will be a LED V3 Inferno Napalm with a diecast interior skeleton covered by translucent armor plating. There would be no point in buying any more figures after that. In fact, I'd probably sell all of my other figures and just build a shrine to it.

Our local used book store has quite a few of the manga. I might have to see how much of the series they have and I might start looking into it. I picked up a couple of them just because the back of the book had some awesome drawings of the internal workings of the machines. I hope these come out soon. I am looking forward to them.

I was just looking at Wave's product page for this stuff the other day - hasn't been updated since October of 2010 I blame it on Nagano being an asshat. He probably doesn't want any merchandise to come out before he reboots Five Star Stories, and knowing how long that might take, I'd say this stuff is probably well and truly dead. Bah.

No luck on the revival of these FSS figures seems like. But a new volume of FSS (Vol.13) did came out recently in Aug 2015, after a hiatus of 8-9 years LOL. Nagano also renamed the Mortar Headd as Gothicmade, to go with his more recent movie project, updating some names and small details to retrofit back into FSS. His mecha designs also showed some changes in style on the newer stuff. Not sure if I like all that changes to be honest. Its like after all these years, Jedi is no long called Jedi, but is Sage from now on..., and the mecha styling is more extreme than before.
For a moment, I though WAVE folded or something that caused the toyline getting scrapped. But looks like they are still around, even have new products for the W.H.A.M. line. Took me a while to dig this thread up, hoping there was more info. I guess not. What a shame...
To quench my thirst, I found myself a Volks IMS 1/100 Schertor plastic model kit with chrome plating. Guess that will be the next closest thing. Heard these are pretty hard to build for beginners. This will be a very interesting.

The problem with Nagano is that he is totally opposed as making toy of five star story and even gothicmade because he was furious at Kaiyodo for making ( for Nagano ) crap toy and that why we don't have FFS toy

Such great-looking mecha...it's so unfortunate there are no gokin toys for them.
