So I found this on SGCollect... and haven't been able to get any other information on it. I was hoping one of our resident readers-of-Japanese could shed a little more light on it, because if Wave is making a pre-built figure (W.H.A.M. or otherwise) of a Five Star Stories design, this will be a shoe in for the most-exciting-product-released-ever for me. For those who aren't familiar with Five Star Stories, an overview: It's a manga series made by fashion designer Mamoru Nagano, featuring extremely elegant and often effeminate mech and character designs. With the exception of three rather poor figures by Kaiyodo (or was it Kotobukiya?), it's also never had any figures made, instead being restricted in the past to very high end plastic and resin model kits. The Knight of Gold is one of the poster-robots of the series, along with the equally amazing looking LED Mirage - you can see an image of what the completed version looks like in the second image. As I mentioned, if anyone can read any of this (I see ABS, Diecast, and PVC thrown around along with a 2010 date, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything) and provide more info, I would love them forever.

I dunno. Those mechs look really nice. I guess this is a model kit in which you assemble an inner ABS skeleton, and then apply the outer armor parts onto the skeleton... and it seems like a model kit that will be poseable once it's assembled. ...I could be wrong. Nice find, bro! zozo-Magengar

Big event is right ... 25 years and never a decent toy. I'm going to offer a prayer every night that this toy reaches shelves, and then that Wave makes a LED Mirage to accompany it. If they make a LED Mirage V3 with the Napalm unit, complete with pearlescent armor and diecast inner frame, it will literally be the last toy I ever buy because anything that would come after would be a disappointment.

Interesting designs for sure. Stupid question: Was the never finished (AFAIK) "Gothicmade" in any way related to this, or just a take off on the concept?

Interesting designs for sure. Stupid question: Was the never finished (AFAIK) "Gothicmade" in any way related to this, or just a take off on the concept? It's related in the sense that it's Nagano, I suppose. He can occasionally replicate designs and themes in his various works, such as L-Gaim which has a number of similarities to Five Star Stories.

I really expected volks to do something like this with their A3 line. There are a few of these I would like if done right.

Looks like it! The Engage is a pretty cool design - though if they were going with this general shape I'd have preferred the Last Junchoon. At 13cm tall, that would be smaller than 1/144 I think. All plastic, but that doesn't bother me at all.

I've been a big fan of the FSS designs for a long time, especially the Machine Mess AUGE: I'm in if they do these designs justice.

I need a Cloud Mirage Or a Speed version. Hell, a Gold Knight would be pretty sweet as well.

Yeah, I'm very happy to hear this news! For most all of my life, FSS has been kinda like a unicorn to me. I think I saw one once when I was kid (FSS, not a unicorn) - so elegant and hypnotic, but never really since. As an adult, of course, I'm quite familiar with FSS and still love the mech designs. However, I'm not about to plunk down a serious chunk o' change only for me to totally eff up the model - never got THAT good.
THIS, though... This is what I've been waiting on!

I wonder how expensive they'll be. Can't be more than Revos, right?

I wonder how expensive they'll be. Can't be more than Revos, right? Um. Yes. Yes, I can 100% guarantee you they'll be TONS more expensive than revoltechs. Nagano's licensing fee is pretty considerable, and Wave's W.H.A.M. toys (which this looks to be if not part of, an offshoot of) are usually ~$100 for the smaller ones.
