I picked up a new 'Tidal Wave' energon series TF for the combined mode which makes a nice space battleship. The four revolving gun turrets look great; sort of a TF 'Yamato'. I was impressed that the tiny gun barrels elevate, and have actual holes in the ends, intead of the usual closed/cast end that toy guns of this scale usually have;a nice detail that somebody added which enhances the convincing look of the gun turrets.
Nothing special in Robot mode, but an excellent space battleship. There was another color version of this toy with a lot of purple plastic/color...not as nice as the energon/dark fleet version IMO.

Wow  excellent review! I should have scrolled back and read/posted to your original thread, before I posted. These are new stock at the TRU I frequent (Alberta, Canada), so I figured this was a new release (wrong). Fabulous review Shax; it has me taking a much more careful look at this wonderful TF. Ward |

Thanks, Ward. Well the Energon release is new. My review was written for the Armada release, which was about five months ago. It had a green/gray/purple color scheme. The all purple color scheme you mentioned previously was the Japanese release. The Energon paint job looks amazing, but I'm not rebuying the toy for it  |

I have the armada version myself and like it better then the energon colors. The energon colors just don't really scream "dark fleet" to me  |

I enjoy the Ship mode best:  And in early reply to the Captain Planet being on the TV... it was early in the morning and I was waiting for Zoids to be on (Though now they killed Zoids and replaced it with Courage...bleh). |
