I think his name is "Kicker". He's a Sentai-like human character from the upcoming Energon series. In Japan, he's sold seperately, but also in a gift set with Prime. Hasbro has announced that it has no plans to release him in the US.

I believe Kicker's much larger than a dianaut though. If I had to guess, I'd say he's about 6" tall. Far more like a Power Ranger.
I'm still waiting for Takara to unveil a transformer that somehow combines with him. Otherwise, I have no idea what they were thinking by releasing this toy.

I'm speculating, but way back during the time of the first Power Ranger( ZyuRanger) which was horribly hacked by Saban, another live-action wannabee entitled Super Human Samurai Syber Squad was aired. The U.S. version had a similar figure like Kicker released. It was produced by Playmates. But originally, under the japanese title GRID Man, this futuristic version of Ultraman, was built by Takara. He sort of functioned like an anti-virus guardian in the V.R. world. It wouldn't be far fetch if Takara uses this figure as the base figure for a "Power Armor" type character.

Yeah, that SSSS show was lame (at least in the US), but that figure is a WAY COOL! I have the US version (named "Zenon" IIRC) and it's a jet, drill tank, and some kinda transport vehicle that combine into a kick-butt robot. It also turns into an exo-suit for the main character figure ("Synchro" IIRC). It looks very cool, and not at all like an action figure with junk stuck all over him. In fact, you really cant tell there's another figure inside at all, it looks like another robot (but very different from Zenon). All-in-all, a very well-designed toy, and probably the best action-figure-inside-a-robot toy since Rom Stol from Machine Robo (IMHO). If Takara did make a toy like that for Kicker, I'd be the first in line to buy one!

I have read before that he might be to scale with Energon Arcee. That way he can fit on and ride the motorcycle alt mode. Additionally, it would be cool if they came out with an exosuit for him, like Spike's/Daniel's in TF the Movie.

From the link, it looks like he may be the same scalebody/style as the Microman Microforce lineup. This would make sense for production, and for sending more of my money out East.

Found this on Hasbro's Site:
Q: Are there any plans to release the deluxe sized OPTIMUS PRIME shown in a recent Takara catalog with the Kicker figure? Does this deluxe OPTIMUS PRIME combine with MEGATRON at all? A: These items are not currently in our ENERGON plans. They may eventually be released as exclusives.

Kicker is 3 3/4 to 4 inches. Size of the recent microforce and other microman figures. I've been told that he;s too small for Arcee unfortunately.
