Greetings Forum, A respectful hello to everyone, I found your forum while searching for information on my Godaikin super robot. Much like a few others that I have read posts of I bought the Godaikin "Combattra" (Item # 77053 Blue Box) when I was a child. Although it is not a "MIB" I do have a majority of the parts less two or three perhaps. Of the parts missing is one chest strap and perhaps one white missile. I have taken a few unpolished photos of the toy as from a few other posts the first replies seems to be about photos. I never installed the rubber tracks so there is not any stretch on them. Although not pictured I also have all the silver and blue missiles as well. In all it is in good shape, general scratches from play use and assembly, also one battle kulaft clip is broken but does not affect the toy from standing or rolling in horizontal mode. I realize the better condition of the toy is more valuable to collectors. With that I have investigated the net and have of course found varying information on the Combattra. I have read it was sold as single pieces, a set with two different box colors (Brown and Blue) etc. Any advice or information would be very appreciated. Thanks Ryde...

The Bandai Godaikin version was only sold in the "Art box" and the gold "window box"
There is a version of the toy called "Combatra" that was sold under the Shogun Warriors line. That came in a "U-combine" version (boxed set) and as individual pieces. Both are pretty rare; the Godaikin version is more common.
The figures are nearly identical - however there is a variant in the "+" hole where you connect the fists/claw/drill. Some versions have a symmetrical "+" while others have an elongated version more like a "t". These are not compatible and I'm not versed on how/when the changes occurred. I believe the "+" is more common and the thinner version came later.
Otherwise, the toys are all pretty much the same. Yours looks like a nice example, and if you search around you shouldn't have a problem finding that white missile they show up now and again. The missing rubber strap however is pretty desirable and hard to find. You appear to be missing a couple other small parts – there should have been 4 chrome drill missiles for the feet, 4 large rounded blue missiles for the back of Battle Marine, and 4 pointed blue missiles (similar to the yellow ones in the upper left corner) for the cannons on Battle Marine. Again, these show up from time-to-time on ebay.
Again – looks like you have a really nice set and a few missing missiles doesn’t diminish such a great toy! Congrats on keeping it in such good condition!
Welcome to the board.

I prefer the photo box version that you have to the gold window box, and the photo box doesn't come up for sale as often, but for some reason people fork out absurd money for the window box. The last one on ebay, granted it was unused (mint in box) went for 2 grand. Yours, while it does have most of the accessories, is missing some key parts namely the rubber tank treads and the suspenders as mentioned above. It's also kind of beat up as these things usually go. If you're looking to sell, expect somewhere in the 500 range. It's a great toy in any condition though, mine isn't much different

Greetings,
I do have the tank treads, I never installed them. To my count I am missing.
1 Shoulder Strap
1 White Missile
I have all the silver and both sets of blue missiles just not the little plastic containers that stored them. Not really sure the logic in the Straps they never really installed like the picture showed, in most cases they turned into a super rubber band with major eye poking potential.
I've noticed the price of them being all over the map, not to mention some toys that are almost like mine but different to mild degrees.

Hi Ryde, Welcome. It is great that you have the Combattra intact, nice find. It sounds like you are interested in pricing and a bit of appraisal. Prices are all over the map because conditions, boxes, and completeness are so different. Super premium prices are paid for new old stock. Yours is good used, but the set won't (likely that is) hit the high price mark. Then as you approach a complete set then you garner another nice price mark. Chips and tarnishing mean quite a bit for the high end pricing. Whatever Bottom line is that you probably could quantify all the price variations if you sat down with pictures of the toys sold. I'll just ballpark that your set will sell from $450-800 or so and it all depends on the day of sale. I'd deduct on premium prices for these reasons: box condition completeness chips tarnishing but you are unique and get kudos for: it surviving in excellent used condition the box variation is nice you've got most all the parts. Private Message me if you want more info. I just figured that you would like these details since it is a childhood gem and a loved character. ++ -Love it Ed

another thing that really effects the price is condition. this one looks like there is a bunch of chips all over it. collectors are extremely anal especially when they are shelling out $500.

Greetings, I am not sure about the other models but the Combattra got nicks and scratches if you just looked at it. I am in the process of cleaning and refurbishing it. I plan on posting pictures once I have it done. Ryde...

Greetings, No I had not intended to try and paint it, I know the marks would never be seamless. I have done a fair amount of restoration on older audio gear and that's one of the first things you learn. Ryde...
