I just picked up a set of Turbo Rugger DX and Turbo Robo DX. I noticed that Turbo Robo has the Chogokin symbol and says "Chogokin" on the box but Turbo Rugger does not. Is this because Turbo Rugger is a companion robot, and not the star?

I know they have a few knock off Turbo Rugger's floating around. Is it the original bandai release? Also what classifies a robot as a chogokin is the materials that it is made out of. Turbo rugger only has a few diecast parts so i wouldnt necessarily call this a chogokin. A chogokin is a mostly diecast figure or robot. Hope this helps.

This is the original Bandai release. It has a reasonable amount of diecast--probably as much as the Turbo Robo DX. And it's obviously in the same line as you can combine it with the Turbo Robo. It just seems strange that Turbo Robo has the Chogokin symbol on the box.

Are they the same year release date on the boxes? I don't have both these to give a better answer, but if it's got some diecast, yeah, it fit's right in with the rest. The symbol may have been used only to a certain production point?
As for most collectors/buyers, it won't matter much if it's the real deal, and is part of the original set.
