I did post this in the FIX thread but I figure I'd start a new thread dedicated to various Gundam stands so post pics of the multitude of Gundam stands out there.

BTW it also comes in green and blue. I might pick up some more for my other figures that don't have bases.

yeah the light bases are pretty usless if you ask me, they dont hold the figure up at all. only use is just for a little gimmick. Im not sure if they are wireless or not but if they arent that would make them more a hasstle.

Yeah there wireless, plus if your looking for a suspending base these aren't it but they do attach to the Gundam Action bases which does have a arm for those flying poses. I wanted a base more in the SOC vein since I have quite a few figures that didn't come with bases and don't really want to display my figures flying or pointing there guns and whatnot.

Got this Bandai Action Base today in a local shop. Not terribly expensive. And actually kind of fun to put together since it's a kit in and of itself with all those adjustable bits. Here's the finished thing which, well, sorry but it doesn't photograph particularly well if you actually have a 1/100 scale Gundam on it. It does however come with a variety of mounting brackets of 3 different widths plus an extra spacer (I think that's what it's for) with a screw. Since pretty much every gunpla kit has the same "barbell-assembly" for the hips' ball joints, this is intended to accomodate virtually all HGUC both 1/144 and 1/100, and MG as well. My photo is of course showing a Metal Material Model Aile Strike Gundam on it so it's a little wobbly. Probably wasn't intended to hold up a die-cast figure. But it's still pretty tough. Before anybody asks, no, it won't hold my new Fix Figuration Metal Composite Gundam Unicorn in Destroy mode. That's because the hips angle outwards (pointing the ball joints out and down) to make the limbs "longer." That's too bad because... well, I was really wanting to display Unicorn "flying" out of my display like in the final frame of the first episode.

I haven't taken the plunge on the Action Bases yet. I like the engineering that has been put into them, and they look cool. The problem for me is they look TOO cool. If I'm going to pose a kit in flight or any other action pose, I'd like the stand holding it in that pose to be as unobtrusive as possible. The action base has such a cool, hi-tech/industrial look, it draws attention to itself. So far, I've stuck with displaying my kits standing at rest, or standing in a 'ready to whup some ass' pose. My current "stand" of choice- the Kotobukiya Mechanical Chain Base: These things are inexpensive, can be connected to create a large display, and are easy to customize. Add a few LEDs, and you've got a cool hanger-bay for your mechs.
