It cretainly looks better than the Yamato version's Koenig. Just hope it is actually 1/100 scale or even make it into 1/60. Now I think it is a little small... and being non-scale toy!

Really cool looking. I always wanted the Yamato one since that was all there was except for models. Now I think I'll wait, since if Bandai's is DX, there's a chance of some diecast chunks in there. It's unfortunate you need a stand to hold him up in gerwalk mode Gah! I didn't even see that. Man, that sucks. News I saw on other sites is that those pics are just prototype, and the support issues, and gaps in panels in flight mode, will be gotten better. Hoping...

Looks cool. I hope they have clear cockpit windows.

Hm, I'd kind of hope for the opposite, myself. There'd be nothing to show inside the cockpit (it has to transform out of the way to allow the head to deploy), and I'd be afraid that it'd turn out to be a big clear piece with the body color painted around the windows; that kind of thing almost never matches the surrounding plastic and ends up looking off.

Happinet online has posted product preorders for the Bandai RD/DX Monster: Two different versions, interestingly, one significantly more expensive than the other. Koenig Monster: Standard DX - 16800 Yen Koenig Monster: SP. Ver - 21000 Yen. I can't imagine "monster girl" logos could justify that kind of price increase. I wonder what the difference between the two versions could be. EDIT: projected September release

Looking at the two versions at amiami, the only difference they show in the pictures is the girl sticker on the side. Not worth $30 to me. Even if it came with with an extra booklet and a little candy figure or something(?) still doesn't cut it for me.
I think of it this way. The average Kamen Rider figures with accessories costs $30.

from Shun at macross world:
the regular version comes without the stickers applied * (early TV version). HOWEVER, it includes stickers for both Ranka Nose Art (late TV version) AND Sheryl Nose Art (Movie version). So you can chose which one to apply or not at all.
SP version is limited to First Issue only (and comes with the following "gifts") - comes with Sheryl Nose Art applied - "Island 1" canopy style display base (seems like the Monster landed and fired a shot on the canopy of Island 1 in the movie... ) - Sheryl images (decals?) for decoration - special goods set "Mission Code: Galaxy Fairy", movie version... Sheryl's Black Credit Card (with Serial Numbering) and SMS Operations Instruction manual - Sheryl image packaging with clear sleeves... :S

I'm really wondering what the size will be for this guy. 13000 (or 16000) seems fairly steep for what I pictured, especially if it turns out to be all plastic, but I guess it could be large and have some metal?

From the quoted size of the Shuttle mode, it'll be just barely smaller than the Yamato 1/100 version. In the pics you can see it's a but bulkier than the DX VF-25's, as well. As for being all plastic, well, it was moved from the Robot Damashii (which def. would have been all plastic) to the DX line, so I'd imagine that would entail diecast being added to the mix. It'll probably be in the hinges and interior, mostly, but I don't think we need to worry about it not having any.

I'm a little on the fence at the moment. I'm probably going to wait for reviews. I'm not into the stand and I don't know about the whole $30 upgrade for currently unseen extras. I really like the look, but he's pricey for a figure that I have a lot of questions about.
