Just be careful that if you DO decide you want it, you can still get it. The SP version is going to be 1st release only; so depending on how many Bandai decides to make, the decision on whether or not to get it might be made for you once it gets released Me? I think I'll be 100% happy with the stock look, although I do kind of dig the black stripes on the Sheryl version.

No, I don't think so. There's a zoomed out shot that shows it to be the normal color that's been shown many times before, the same color as the regular version standing next to it. I think the lighting and the flash of the close up shots really mess the colors up.

You're probably right, but the variation in color is very drastic it's misleading. The colors have been all over the place in different pictures. Thanks for the update!

Look ma, no stand - Full lineup of photos from Tamashii web here: tamashii.jp/t_item/t_item.php?eid=00027I like that the Koenig finally has the fold down support plate for firing mode, although it's not actually long enough to use

I preordered it anyway... however, still upset about it doesn't have any "landing gear" in plane mode.

Aircraft carriers don't have landing gear? Now I hate them.

So this is roughly 1/100 scale right? I'm thinking that scales probably the best if you want a wide variety of Macross mechs besides the fighters and still keep prices somewhat reasonable. Looks pretty nice.

While the original lineart for the Koenig Monster was drawn without landing gear, I guess it was doctored in for the Macross frontier version. mmm. Tastes like crow.

Looks pretty nice. It'll be a bit smaller than 1/100 scale. Maybe 1/120th or so, roughly speaking, as it's supposed to be in scale with the Robot Damashii VF-25's, which are also smaller than 1/100 scale. The Yamato Koenig is true 1/100 scale, which means this one will be slightly smaller. It's close enough for me, though.

In the pictures of the toy, the cockpit area seems to be tilted and not flush like in the art from the show. Just doesn't look right.

Yes, whoever set the figure up at the show didn't lock the cockpit down properly, you can see, it's half propped up. It's not supposed to be that way

Was there any different colors of the Monster? I'm pretty sure in the original Macross there were brown and green versions but I can't remember for Frontier, probably not. But I'm thinking a flat black, white/grey, or a camo version would look sweet.

Well this is Bandai so I'm pretty sure there might be a web exclusive re-color.
