there is 2 type of volt in box that i know 1. volt in box - with yellow elbow with book and pen 2. volt in box - red elbow with book and pen 3. volt in box - red elbow with boazanian monsters 4. individual popy box 5. godaikin box all of them are made in japan with popy stamp on his back, the difference are color of the elbow, popy book, popy pen. Godaikin box version doesnt have book and pen anymore. for value, i believe each of the version have their own value and fans ofcourse the popy version will have higher value because of the extra. popy individual box godaikin see that it doesnt have the book and pen space

sorry to hijack this thread for a while, but i have a voltes v question of my own ;D
i noticed that even individual boxes have at least 2 variants, theres those with blue background as seen in the pictures in the previous post by nyonk, and theres another with greenish background (which is similar to the set on offer in the big robot-japan auction starting in april). So i was wondering if there's any real difference (red & yellow elbow thing?) between them (apart from background colour of boxes)?

Green borders will usually have the earlier release toys. Blue border came 2nd.
Also, you will see variant colors of plastic for the missle trays, (see Nyonks great pics above) of black, blue, and white.

good info.....thanks for all the pictures. so essentially, there is no appreciable difference in value or desirability from one version over the other of the big-box versions? it's just a personal preference thing? i got the red-elbow version when i was a kid but have since lost the pen and the little rubber monsters. otherwise i still have everything in the box. are the pen and the monsters the most desirable parts? thanks!

Hmm... I do remember having a Voltes toy during its first run in 79 here. That would mean I had the yellow-elbow 1st ed popy one right?
What I don't remember is the box cover for one. I don't remember ever having any add-ons inside the box. I just remember I had the big box version.
I'm pretty sure I had Voltes during the series run because I remember having one when the Popy individual boxes were being sold near our place in Quezon City here in Metro Manila.

I'm no Voltes expert, but I feel pretty confident in saying that the first yellow elbow version will definitely fetch the highest prices.

I remember the Popy boxes being Light blue... hmm.. Thanks for that link! hmm.. maybe if I see the differences of the other parts I might be able to nail down which robot version I had. Wait... so the original run had a red elbow as well? And not just the 80s rerelease? ^^ Btw, roboto - I might go to Taiwan sometime in the near future again. I was there 2 years ago in Kaoshiung. Which places are great for chogokin hunting there? To Nyonk: I had Godsigma too.... cool to see him. How are the antennas of the feet robots now in yours?
