What is the consensus on Daikyoziin toys from your perspective? The other day it completely caught me off guard. A few people commented on how crude/primative it is.
Of course I though, YES. It was part of a kids show and meant for kids.

Do you mean its kinda blocky in design? But many other toys seem pretty simple, such as the Gingaizer (although that's not from a manufacturer like TT).

I love both the old, and the new Unifive. Some TT toys were maybe a little primitive, I dunno, not everything is gonna be a Valk, or the BidDaiX Combo in terms of awesomeness.
The look and size of the vintage, and the box art, are all just KILLER in my opinion. They're still plenty fun to play with, and it can do a few different modes, not just a "part former". It's also not as plasticky as some other TT toys like some Gyakutenoh, and SankanOh releases.
One I'd like to know more about is the "BLOCK" type Daikyozin set. What the heck is that? Is it part of a greater builing toy line?
Man, anybody who thinks these are primitive, hasn't played with a Clover DX set, Ahahaaha!

It was primitive as opposed to Gakeen. Gakeen was considered a higher art form as was Daikengo.
-weird....to me at least. I guess you could say they were destined for different age groups....I think.

Ah, you mean the toys themselves were designed for a younger age group? I'm not familiar with the show - how young is the intended viewing age?

When I got my first daikyozin , which is not very clean though complete , I was kinda dissapointed because I thought it look lame and combine wise is not particularly inspiring : a robot turn into centaur, it's difficult enough to fight as a robot without some extra weight from your behind ;D
Then I got my other daikyozin which is very mint as well as complete and I was surprised, after thouroughly inspected the robot, that it is actually a very beautiful and handsome looking toy. It is worthy of a vintage : blocky, hefty, colorful with great sculp.
So I think Daikyozin now as a great and worthy vintage toy

My thoughts are that it is awesome sauce ×2! I have the Uni-5 remake of Calenderman in Eigo, and it is absolutely gorgeous.I'm really into toys from Time-Bokan and all the derivitive shows. I have a lot of the original Takatokus and some of the Uni-5's which I think are 2nd.to none. In fact I just won a MIB Yatter-Dojira which I'm psyched about. It is such a beauty. Toys from these series really exemplify Japanese Toy making to me.
