Guys, i really didnt want to put this question on this board but the transformer board seem dead ... ...( There are posts that one and a half month ago on the first page) After i transfering the BT-01 to robot mode, it took me 15 minutes, and then while i tried to transfer it back to car mode, i found some of the parts are too hard to put together. After another 10 minutes or so, i finally made it back but one of the back windows was not in its original position. This is really bothering me, i dont know if i should open the other boxes.

I have the Alternator versions of Smokescreen, Sideswipe, and Silverstreak, but haven't opened any of them because I intend to get the BTs to open. However just about everyone I've spoken to about them basically say the same thing you are saying about them - they're a pain in the @$$ to transform, so most of the time they are kept on display in bot mode.
Have you had any problems with paint chipping?

I have a lot of trouble, specialy with Smokescreen.
I have the alternators though, since they are displayed with my transformers colection and not on my super robot shelf.
The only transfomer that has that honor is Masterpeice Optimus Prime. ;D

Not all BTs are hard to transform, yes it is true on a BT Smokescreen, it's a pain because of the tight joints. IMHO Takara made changes base possibly on this complaint. So BT Hound and Streak are easier to transform cause the joints are not so stiff, I'm basing this on the ones I got. Even if Streak has the same transformation as smokes it is more manageable.
For those that does not have smokes yet, I suggest to wait for updated ones with cannons, basing on later BT's they might not have the tight joints as the first ones. Still paint chips will be a problem.
Hope this info helps, though later will have to move this thread ;D

Apparently, later runs of BT01 Smokescreen had thicker layrs of paint over the areas easily chipped. I checked my mates one (which was purchased recently) against myine (which I got from the first run) and the paint dose seem visibly thicker on these dangerous places.........

I have mixed feeling about this "problem". I own the alternators too, and I MUCH prefer the Binaltech. I prefer the higher quality. Sure I realize that the Binaltech product is a worse "toy", in that it will not withstand abuse from children. But as an adult collector, I don't really have a problem with this.
Having to chose between one and the other, its a simple choice for me...
