Here's something that I'm sure is a surprise to noone: a super robot chogokin tie-in with the new Maizinkaiser Skll show Indeed this is an interesting development, could this be a hint to the end of the SOC line? I do agree it is a cool figure nevermind if the anime will be a sure fire disappointment. However, its simply way tooooo small when put side-by-side my SOCs so I'm on the fence with this, perhaps someone's review will sway me once its out.

Uh I don't think Bandai would release just one Mazinkaiser figure, it's a safe bet that there will be a more expensive SOC version plus probably all plastic versions too. The SOC line ISN'T dead we just know what the next 4-5 releases are that's why there really isn't any news about new SOC's past the ships.

Maybe, or maybe not. If sales are great as an SRC, why would Bandai invest in a more expensive SOC release? Either way, they will make money.
Of course that I woud like to see it get the SOC treatment but only if it is going to be in a close height scale with the GX-01R & GX-02R. Could care less about it being in scale with the GX-45/GX-49...

Because it's a guaranteed money maker, Bandai would never let an opportunity to make even more money pass. Not saying they will for sure but if this Mazinkaiser project get's the same kind of push as the Shin Mazinger series I'm expecting to see a lot of product being made. Plus all they would have to do is upscale the molds from the SRC version and add some tweaks and some accessories to make it SOC worthy and there you go. Everything is CAD designed so the basic work for a Mazinkaiser SKL figure should be done. Either way that Mazinkaiser figure is pretty nice looking.

I just wonder why Bandai never released an original Mazinkaiser figure in SOC form. Those ovas were Dynamic/Bandai too, but the only character that saw the light of day was Mazinger in its SOC GX-07 rendition.

Who knows, that's the weird thing about Japanese licensing. Multiple companies can hold the same license for a character but only be able to produce a certain type of product. Perhaps Aoshima paid more for the Mazinkaiser character license than Bandai wanted too and were granted the rights to produce OVA versions of Mazinkaiser. Or perhaps Dynamic allowed other companies to make Mazinkaiser products for a set number of years before giving ultimate rights to Bandai, who knows.

Yes, it's Bandai's latest version of the Soul Stage, Act 5, I think?

Seems like Great Mazinger can do the Great Boomerang COOLNESS!!! I always wonder if toy companies hire people to read comments on sites like this one in order to improve their upcoming releases. Take a look at all the changes that have been done to these two figures from their first released pictures to the final product. Everything that was changed on them was being discussed here profusely...! ;D ;D ;D }D

All these SRC figures look pretty nice even the pre-production prototypes, except for Dendoh and Ogre they still look kinda blah. Which sucks cuz I've wanted figures from that show for awhile so hopefully they'll get improved but I'm loving all the effect parts. Can't wait to read some reviews from Gold and others.
