I have tried watching those old Mazinger Z shows and just couldn't get into it. A lot of them have really bad subtitles. I do enjoy the edited clips that people create on youtube. So farthe only Mazinger Z anime that I like is the Mazinkaiser movie. Most memorable moment was when the twins died. What a way to go, getting crushed inside the breast cockpit of some flying fembot. Darm in, I can't even remember the characters name, let alone the name of the robot. Don't have to like the show to enjoy the SRC figures. Most of the SOC's in my collection, I haven't seen the show or know much about. I buy them because I like the way they look, the gimmicks or transformation engineering and such.

Ah, the twin babes Lori and Lora (Lora aka "Roll"). That robot they simultaneously piloted was Alpha Million. I felt the same way while watching the OVA, and seeing the graves of all those who died to help Koji get back to Japan so he could dispatch Mazinkaiser against Dark General. The versions of Maz series you see online are indeed terrible with bad subs. For a while a few years ago I wanted to subtitle the original Mazinger-Z series with corrected English subs (to replace the terrible HongKong dvdrip version). But for all 92 episodes, it's a brutal task; and I'd have to translate them from the Spanish-subbed and/or Spanish-voiced versions. I don't have all those versions complete because my sources hadn't finished their work and that just got lost in the void. I scrapped my english subs and just gave up on the project. zozo-Magengar I have tried watching those old Mazinger Z shows and just couldn't get into it. A lot of them have really bad subtitles. Is THAT from the HongKong dvdrip? I hope Not. I'm no saint, and I aint no Master Authority of the English language command. But at least I still gotta give the person credit for at least Trying to sub it in English. (IF that person who subbed it Is from China.)
But after seeing the robot/character name changes in almost every other few episodes I tore the cd out of the drive and stabbed it into a drywall. LOL!
Examples "Devil Z".... "Masha Z"......"Baron Asla".... "Baron Intersex one".... "Goki".... and many others I can't remember right now. LOL!
Oh, well... until we're blessed with a good English subtitled version we're stuck with the HK dvdrip version for now.

You forgot "Omnipotent Demon Knight Z"... ;D You know, I've tried watching them too and they just put me to sleep. Those old episodes are better than sleeping pills! However, there is one OVA (my favorite) that can't be topped even with it being so old: "Mazinger Z versus Ankoku Dai Shogun" movie. It is still awesome to this day! ;D }D

Back in the day when I downloaded all 92 episodes off torrent, I was up the wall excited ("English language HKdvdrip")... I saved them all in a stack of cds on a spool. After watching them, I threw them around and got pissed off. The ONLY reason I keep them is for episode # reference when I wanna check to see which episode whatever kikaijuu appeared in, for my personal projects. " Mazinger-Z vs Ankoku dai Shogun"... that OVA friggin ROCKS! I always watched it until a few months ago. My copy came from the old " Ulala" Memorial version which is in Spanish-subs... ...I translated the subs (.srt's) into English and got myself a "perfect" English-subbed version now. I'll have to dig it out of storage (buried in a stack of old harddrives) and locate the work-folder, or dig out my dvd copy and see if I can upload it here for you guys. I shipped a lot of dvds and cds to Puerto Rico a while back- I'll be pissed if I shipped this disc as well. zozo-Magengar You forgot "Omnipotent Demon Knight Z"... ;D You know, I've tried watching them too and they just put me to sleep. Anyway, back on topic... I still haven't scored my Maz SRCs because I've been distracted by other projects, purchases, and stuff. The more I see these SRCs the more I fiend for them. Eventually, I'll soon be bustin mine out up here once I score them. Also, the same way that I'd avoid buying an OS on its first release, I'm avoiding these SRCs for now juuuust iiiiiin caaaase Bandai throws us any sucker-punches and starts releasing any Re-Issues and Re-Whatevers in this new line. zozo-Magengar Another Youtube Review Of Super Robot Chogokin Mazinger Z

I wonder if Bandai will make the SRX team combine into SRX-00 or just tease us until they do a SOC of it.
BTW, Are their any other combining SRX-00 toys out there apart from that limited one from a few years ago?

The fun part about the SRX, as you might have guessed by twoduck's musings, are that it's a combining robot, made from the R1, R2, and R3 mechs that bandai has already shown prototypes of. I don't see them making the SRCs as combineable, though . Considering the size and the lack of any Powered equipment, I'd be pretty shocked to see anything involving the SRX in the SRC line. Now, a SOC SRX would be great, but at the same time, I'd almost be angry at Bandai making a combinable SRX if I'd bought the SRC R1/2/3 team, hah.

They probably won't make a combiner, but like you said they could make an SOC OR they could make a large scale SRC similar to Gawain or Regent from the Robot Damashii line up.

They probably won't make a combiner, but like you said they could make an SOC OR they could make a large scale SRC similar to Gawain or Regent from the Robot Damashii line up. IMHO, the SRX will be a conundrum for either SRC or SOC line. For SOC, we know that it's the "holy grail" of toys, sticking with the original source material however Bandai can. Things transform the way they do from the source material and gimmicks galore. The SRX is the pinnacle of combining robots... The R-2 that makes the whole upper torso is basically a big giant steel origami, at least anime wise. If Bandai staying true with its SOC line, then the R-2 should replicate the complex transforming mechanism. If they do that, will integrity be compromised? Volks variable box SRX toy part swapping was mad like hell, but the end result is big sturdy figure (largely thanks to the crotch stand). Even if Bandai do give SRX the SOC treatment, how about the scale? The SOCs are not scale compatible, but at least in the related series it is (Mazinger for example). SRX height is about the same with Dygenguar (51 vs 55 Meter), so if Bandai already commits to SRC SRX team, then possibly the SOC SRX team would be bigger and combined it will dwarf the SOC Dygenguar. Been waiting for SRX action figure for a while, and really hoping Bandai could deliver a decent attempt at it. /rant
