This looks cool! Although, I think I'm more interested in the limited edition 1/100 RX 78 2 model. Apparently it has metal in the internal frame? I certainly wouldn't mind nerding up with a Gundam cell phone however. Again, sometimes I think it'd be so coll to live in Tokyo! LOL! It looks like the phone as a bit of excelerometer capability too... neat! I'm pretty sure to even purchase the phone you'll need to set up a contract with a domestic carrier. But if you're in Japan there is a page link w/a list of plans and rates! LOL! ngeekhiong.blogspot.com/2010/05/mobile-phone-limited-1100-gundam-rx-78.html

I'll give this credit to the Gundam franchise: it's so easy to make awesome recognizable merchandise - there are some very iconic design elements to Gundam. Nobody could mistake that red with yellow cross "star" shield design. But at the same time, it's not terribly goofy either (purple Evangelion watch, anyone?). I would love to have a phone like that... it would fit with my EFSF "uniform patterned" COSPA T-shirt... I wish Macross would translate into cool merchandise like that... but they only seem to have that "kite" symbol to work with...

I'd be totally fine with carrying a phone like this on my person. I think it looks great. Very modern, but with all the features a Gundam fan would appreciate! That said *drum roll* here is our price point: From Ngee Khiong-September release, 73,920 Yen/97,920 Yen (inclusive of tax). ngeekhiong.blogspot.com/2010/05/gunpla-945sh-g-ver-gp30th-new-images.htmlGood night! I give up. Here's hoping they sell that new 1/100 Gunpla separately at some point. Although, I wonder how much of the pricing includes the kit vs. the mobile phone.

I gotta admit, I think this is the Only franchise that makes Gundam-related stuff Other than Gundam figures... look at That slick-azz PHONE! That is surely one helluva Conversation piece. I'd luv to have that phone, it would stand me out from the crowd as a Japanese Robot Toy collector for sure, and it would open opportunities for me to pimp RJ to the masses! I wish the Mazinger franchise would go that route as well! ;D

This is sort of killing me though, the more I look at this phone the more I really want one. Plus that kit looks all kinds of dope! I wonder if there is a way to reverse engineer the phone for use in the 'States! LOL!

Depending on the phone service carrier, I'd think that would have to be a way to get it running here in the States. By hacking it or replacing the chip maybe? And, even if not, at least it's something "Gundam" that hardcore Gundamists would like to add to their everything-gundam collection. ;D zozo-Magengar I gotta admit, I think this is the Only franchise that makes Gundam-related stuff Other than Gundam figures... look at That slick-azz PHONE! betcha youll find chinese knock offs soon after for way cheaper and unlocked... but as it is now its a pretty useless novelty item to us. However, when I went to a few cons there was a japanese phone company that was trying to bring japanese phones to the US market... not sure how it worked but maybe they would bring this one..... now if only i took one of thier cards.

Sweet! a Gundam phone... actually, there's a lot of J-Phone I like which is base on the anime, but most of them work only in japan and a bit expensive. Like, Cloud's phone in Final Fantasy VII AC, Evangelion phone, East of Eden....
