(image from Drout's link) Gigan looks super nice. I'll definitely get him whenever he comes out - this is really shaping up to be a wonderful line for kaiju. I'm with you on the Jet Jaguar hopes too, all the way. Hell, at this point I want to see every Toho kaiju get some love from this line, especially the neglected ones like Biollante. Alternate versions of some of the already released monsters would be great too -- I think the modern Moguera could really benefit from the SFX line's attention to detail, and I still refuse to give up my dream of seeing more of the various Mothra designs getting some attention.

Well Babilon, it's honestly a really tough choice...
I LOVE the source art and original look, so much so that I bought a small hive (5) knowing good and well that Kaiyodo would go and make other Aliens and that 5 would be WAY too many in the end, but that's another story entirely...
I also LOVE the queen...she is so horrifically awesome!
So, when they showed off the Warrior, I was torn...part of me doesn't like the Warrior's dome as much...and wasn't (still not) entirely thrilled with the three fingered hands (heck, even one of the images on the inside of the box art shows a six fingered Warrior)...
Now that I have a pair, I can safely say that I love the modifications that they made to the body. The frill on the upper back is now articulated, whereas the original has a fixed frill, which limits the super poseable neck quite often...especially if you want to pose the drone leaping forward. Anyway, they also made a few minor tweaks to the body to make that a little more poseable as well.
The head has grown on me quite a bit the past couple days. I'm starting to like his dome as much as the smooth dome, and the head will definitely fit in better with the queens crest. The mouth area is a little more aggressive looking as well. The hands have even grown on me a bit, but I'm still curious about the three fingers. The body appears to be a complete re-do, lots of similarities, but completely unique sculpt. The Warrior has an interesting coloration as well...under flat light it clearly has blue metallic highlights, but when you hold it up to the light, those look dark, almost black, and the body looks almost "rootbeer" like the drone and queen. I have to be honest, it really does seem like these are mimicking the whole the "Warrior is a compendium Alien to the drone just like a real hive" intent instead of that "these are different visions of the same creature" concept...
They compliment each other and both have their place in the hive...
The peanut butter analogy is a good one, except when you consider the extra articulation of the Warrior. Truthfully, that one thing alone is a big bonus over the drone, if you are planning on certain types of poses. That said, I still like the good old smooth dome and visible human skull of the drone, the Warrior's head just doesn't have the same creepy feel more of a horror feel.
I posted a bunch of hive group shots awhile back (I think in the Alien thread) and if you are patient I should be able to take a few comparison photos sometime this weekend as well...
Brings me to this, I will likely be parting with 2-3 of my drones at some point in the near-ish future here...however, 1 is likely taken already...they are mint condition but out of box (but I keep my boxes as well) and so they will be less than boxed retail, it may facilitate you being able to afford both. So if you (or anyone else) is interested PM me and we'll talk...I'll stop right there with this discussion though, since I'm probably already borderline breaking a rule...
That said, I can't wait for the predator, I sure hope we get both open and closed mouths and masked heads. I'm definitely in for two if we at least get a masked and unmasked head but the open and closed mouths would thoroughly rock. I would also love to see an armored version (like the ones from the old Dark Horse comics) or other designs, but since this one is the primary design featured in almost every movie and any other major variations on this design have only seen limited screen time, I doubt that it's very likely...but who knows with Kaiyodo...

A couple other things...
Despite the fact that I generally dislike the A v P movies, especially requiem...gawd, how could they screw up a movie about Predators and Aliens and a friggin Pred-Alien to boot, any worse...I think the whole Pred-Aliens having an ovi-positor is about the dumbest thing ever, it just makes no sense...and the whole maternity ward segment was completely unnecessary and (truthfully) rather out of character (over-the-top gore just for the sake of it) for Alien and/or Predator movies...and too many other things to list...
Despite all of this, I like the final aesthetic design and I am totally in for a Pred-Aliens if they make it...
Lastly, the Kaiju have really been fantastic and Gigan is no exception...totally looking forward to it...let's just hope that Kaiyodo/Bandai/Toho don't screw us on at least one Godzilla incarnation and a Mechazilla too...they are quickly on their way to filling out the rest of the "core" lineup though...

I just wonder which Godzilla will they go with... unless they plan to make them all...?!
My favorite Showa-era Godzilla design is from "Mothra VS Godzilla". Totally love that design.

They probably thought it would be a neat study in hidden articulation. Take the most basic body frame there is and see how realistic they can make it while revealing as few joints as possible. I think they pulled it off amazingly well. I'm strongly considering buying this, it'll be my first SFX figure and only the third Revo I've ordered all year. I know a few non Revoltech fans that are interested in this as well, some have never bought a Japanese figure in their life. I think that really speaks for how cool this figure is.

Count me in agreement with Emerge's comment. I informed a buddy, who isn't a Japanese Robot fan (except he likes "Tranzor-Z"), about the Alien revoltech figures and he wants me to bring him some pics of it. Well, he's gonna flip out when I also show him these Skeleton revoltech pics as well! So, what we're seeing is the best of both worlds (East and West) tackled by a single toyline. Too late, Bandai, Kaiyodo beat ya to it. LOL!I think Kaiyodo made a cool move to revoltecize a human SKELETON. Take a good look at our boy Skellie... you just Can't deny how flawlessly well those revoltech joints blend in with them bone sockets, AND are nicely painted in that sepulcheral bone-assed deathly color! You just Can't deny this is a remarkable sculpt for an "open frame" structure (RIIIIIIIBS!) on a poseable figure of This size. You just Can't deny the incredible-skelible anatomicly-correct detail of this fine de-skinned specimen! Damn, if I had SEVERAL of these revoltech Skeletons right now I'd be busy at work choreographing their "Thriller-dance" to This music video... ;D zozo-Magengar They probably thought it would be a neat study in hidden articulation. I think we are using the term cool too loosely here. Yes, it is a very good rendition of a skeleton however, Revo joints are notorious for an inability to take realistic human poses well. To me thats the single most appealing part of the revoltech joint and the way yamaguchi uses them in mecha and manga characters. Unless we see it in hand it's too early to comment on how well they pulled it off. To me the sci-fi line could have done with some much better choices than 'Jason and the Argonauts'. I just have a feeling this figure was a much better idea in theory than actual practice. Only time will tell.

Well, in that case, I wanna get my burly hands on that Skeleton and put that Theory to PRACTICE. <snap!> ;D zozo-Magengar I think we are using the term cool too loosely here. LOL! Hey, I'm not trying to counter-point anyone here. LOL
I do understand that some revoltechs are difficult to pose than others without having some flaw or catch get in the way.
After all, I don't expect any Revoltech figure to break outta da box and attack me with Yogalicious Tai-Chi moves, coz then it'll come to Blows and one of us is gonna Drop. ;D
Check out my man Revo Skelly up there... I most Definitely see it starring in What's-That-Guy's-Name? who does those amazing Stop-Motion animation videos on Youtube. With those gladiator accessories, and a few vinyl rubber dinosaur figures layin around, I can Definitely see a modern fanmovie Revoltech rendition of "Jason & The Argonauts, Part 2: Revoltech Skeletons versus da Brat Dolls of Hollyweird High"........ ...that would be the Ultimate WWF Smackdown in toy history. ;D

I'm loving the skeleton. It seems to pay nice homage to Ray Harryhausen. Will definitely preorder or pick one up shortly after release. Only thing I worry about is I've had some troubles with those tiny 6mm revo joints. I've had some really loose ones in the past on some figures. Beyond that it looks fantastic.
Honestly I dig most if not all the SFX Revo offerings so far. Only have the SFX Alien as of now, but hoping to add Gamera and a few others soon.

Hey, don't fret, bro... Many folks have their own reasons for liking the revo Skeleton. The most impressive thing I like about it is it's sculpt... ...it looks so--- "perfect" for being just a poseable figure. I understand there Can, and perhaps Will, be problems with its small joints later on; but to just Have this skeleton figure for what it is (how good it looks in all that detail and color) would certainly blow away all the "skeleton" knick-knacks I have just hangin around my room. And, it's obvious that this revoltech Skeleton would appeal to me: I'd be among the first, and Proud, population of metal-heads (Here at RJ) to own a truly Awesome anatomically-correct sculpted toy skeleton made by one of the best toy manufacturers in the business; while the rest of the Posers in the world are just plain decoratin their college dorms with cheap plastic skeletons from the local Family Dollar store! Hands DOWN, Church is Closed, This nun's Out To Lunch. ;D zozo-Magengar Wow, guess i'm the minority on this release. Really surprised it's getting such positive responses. Will be looking forward to some reviews from you guys once its in hand.
