From BBTS: Hi - Takara unfortunately did not secure a license with BMW (who owns the Mini Cooper brand) to produce the Mini Cooper figure. I apologize for the inconvenience - our distributor in Japan prematurely released info on this figure after having informal discussions with their sales rep at Takara. They sent us a solicitation for this product the same way we receive info on all other releases from Takara so I had no reason to think there would be any problems when we listed the pre-order. We'll automatically cancel this item off your open pre-orders and nothing will ever be charged to you. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news on this, but I'm sure Takara will come up with more great Binaltech figures from auto companies who are more willing to license their products.
Thanks! Joel www.bigbadtoystore.comBill

They should try to get the PT Cruiser convertible instead.
The Mini would still be nicer though.

There are bootlegs of mini cooper "transformers" coming from Taiwan, I think.
I bought one for my nephew a couple of years ago and he loved it. When he got tired of it, I displayed it on my shelf back at my parent's home. I visited them a few weeks ago, but no longer found the transforming mini cooper. and did I tell you it's die cast content is almost 85%? ;D
There are other more vehicles in their line, even a fire engine. easily, each of them would cost no more than $9.00USD. They are about 1/36 scale.

i think Hasbro/Takara will have a hard time getting licenses from german car makers (BMW, VW, Audi, Opel, Mercedes) ... all of these companies dont want their products to be associated with anything war related... for obvious reasons (WWI and II) ... ;D
... but i'm still hoping to see a bt mini cooper <crosses fingers>

They should try to get the PT Cruiser convertible instead. The Mini would still be nicer though. I really hope not. I *hate* the PT Cruiser with a passion. Its just a friggen Neon with a body kit. Do a Lancer Evo, Skyline, or whatever....just now wussy cars. =) Bill
