Thanks for helping to edit the links Gold. Much appreciated.  The MP-09 is small compared to MP-01. He looks more like Hot Rod beside Optimus Prime. QC is the killer here. Everyone's complaining in toy forums worldwide. What a pity.... |

I didn't really like Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime that much anyway, but after watching the videos I do think this figure is low in quality compared to the previous Masterpiece releases. The hands can't hold the weapons very well, feet problems, but the worst part I think is...
A fake cover for the vehicle when attached to the trailer?! I didn't expect that! I thought you could change the Normal Hot Rod vehicle mode to the Rodimus mode and then attach it to the trailer. Not like what I saw!
It doesn't worth it to me... but if I'd get a Rodimus, I'll get the Classics version. I don't know if I'll get the Protector set as well or not.

Already know about the whole trailer cover thing so that no surprise to me. That was cover and discover half a year ago. I saw the picture of him standing next to mp-01 and he only up to the chest. Still perfect if you use the mini mp-01 from igear. The main thing I didn't like when I saw the picture is how the figure looks like from the side. Looks like he was slice diagonally in half with the big gap where the hood folds over as the chest.

Its sad to hear about all the things wrong with this toy, this must of been a nightmare to plan out... I think he still looks awesome though. A bit disapointed on the hands not being able to hold the weapons very well.... and those springs in his feet warping? that doesnt sound to good.. :/ I can see a lot of people waiting for the hasbro version after reading reviews and stuff. Mine should be here this week sometime and im still very excited to get my hands on him as he is one of my favorite characters.

If you ordered it from robotkingdom.com you get the display case and some coin. IMO they are both pretty dumb and the display case thing looks really cheap.. but ive only seen pictures  |

I see that MP Convoy really sets a false standard of diecast contents for upcoming MP products. But this is still a very commendable product, regardless of diecast content. Let see... you get Hot Rod, Hot Rod car, Rodimus Prime, Rodimus Prime with trailer, plus the cannon trailer... in a single package. No MP product has ever offered so much value before.
Whew... good thing I'm not really a die hard Hot Rod / Rodimus fan *wipes sweat off brow*, otherwise I'll really be hyped to get this release now ;D

oowww.... thanks for the info emerje... is that limited to japan version ? The opposite. The Japanese version is the one that DOESN'T come with the bonus box and coin. That's in the Hong Kong/China release. |

I was told by the vendor that the bonus box & the coin are not free for the Hong Kong & China release.You will need to top up certain amount of $$ in order to get them.

I'm not to concerned about the diecast content, I knew it would be minimal because of the complex transformations. Yeah Prime did set the standard but compared to Rodimus or even Megatron it's transformation is pretty simple and it does sacrifice the looks of truck mode because of it. Still I'm dieing to see a pic of Rodimus next to Grimlock next to a iGear Prime, I know scale isn't a huge priority when it comes to Transformers but if he just looks outta place I might have to pass and see if iGear makes a smaller version or just wait till this becomes dirt cheap or just get the Hasbro version.
