I will continue to go to toy r us each and everyday at 10am, 9:30am on Fridays right when they open until I get one. The price tag is there, they have to restock it some day. Don't care how much better the takara version is. It isn't 250+ good. Hasbro version @ 50 with a coupon is perfect. If I have 250 to drop on a figure right now, it would be a on SOC Daltanious.

So the store opened up at 10:06am today.  I could of purchased the whole case like that freaking scalper last Friday but I only want 1. Five more available at this location. Dublin CA toys r us. |

Found four at the local TRU, walked out with one in hand. The 20% coupon helped alleviate the 10% sales tax, hah.
I still really don't like the color of gray that's used on his face and I wish he had the black boots, but if I really cared that much I'd have forked out an extra $150 for the Tomy version. I'm debating painting his face, but I'm hesitant without knowing what it'll look like in advance.
Maybe I'll only paint one of his faces. It'd certainly help differentiate his two "forms".

All I know is that the $200 I saved from not buying the takara version goes towards two more parts of the tfc devastators.

I wish takara decides to reissue just the Hot Rod with all the fixes. Buying again the whole thing is too much. I like the Takara because of the anime color.

My mom has a doc appointment that day in Brampton so I figured I'd hit TRU while I was there. Also is the leg decals paint or stickers? That's the first thing I'm gonna try and get rid off as soon as I get one. I think I'll also paint the guns flat black and display him with his "goggles" on if there still part of the toy. Try and give him a more "biker", bike cop look since the eye's on this thing are kinda beady and I figure Prime has his mouth guard Rodimus can have his "helmet" lol. |

Got mine at Emeryville Toysrus. They have three more left. One case only has four pieces and I guess they only got one case.

I'm impressed that it can hold some dynamic poses. Transformation is somewhat frustrating with things not fitting perfectly, and the hot rod mode doesn't roll like any toy car should.
Chen, the legs are printed, not stickered.

Well just like MP version unless you transform him pretty much perfectly he wont roll.. so you just have to fiddle with it and it will work.

Chen, the legs are printed, not stickered. Cool thanks for the info, that does make it a bit harder to remove but I think 80% alcohol should do it I just hope it doesn't ruin the finish. |

darn...couldnt find a MP Rodimus in my nearest TRU....read somewhere that an abundant stock of MP Rodimus can be found in kitchener ON....sigh!!!

It's painted on, and they provide stickers with the details as well (a bit odd, but hey). It'd be kind of a shame to paint his guns, though, because the paint work on them is fantastic and they're a really nice dark gunmetal color. A fun effect on mine is that the visor/goggles autodeploy when I pop his hot rod face out, and slide away on their own when I put the rodimus face on. The downside is that I cannot get the visor to go away in hot rod mode or slide down in rodimus mode, heh. I have no idea if this is intentional (I'm guessing not), but I do kind of dig it. |

The visor can be turned up or down by rotating the circle knob on both sides of its head. You can have visor up or down in either mode.

It's hitting something internally, and that same something is popping it forward when I deploy the face, and keeping it held back in rodimus mode. I don't mind. In fact, I like it. It's kind of a neat extra transformation effect, even if it's actually a defect  |

Could anyone help me with a transformation issue that I am having with TRU masterpiece rodimus?
On the instruction sheet from robot to car mode, it said i need to push the fin/wing up (not the way to push up from rodimus to rodimus prime way). However at car mode i just couldn't push the wing toward like some offical photos. I looked all over youtube on other ppl's reviews, all of then has it transforming from car mode to robot mode and none vice verse. I also noticed that the blue bar attached to the wing can be pushed as it has the mechanic to allow the wing to be slide up.
I just couldnt figure how to do it in car mode as instructed on the sheet.
On your instruction sheet from robot to vehicle mode, go to line 5, then to circle number 3. There u can see what i mean by this confusion. Thanks in advice.
