It seems like Mospeada/New Generation is cursed. Why the hell can't a large toy company with a huge developmental staff and a decent budget produce these figures.

STATUE!?!?!? how insulting to those who bought Toynami products. i think im going to sell my Toynami stuff on ebay just out of spite. yet another company who's mouth is bigger than their wallet. what bummer for us Robotech fans. i hope evil things happen to them. i say BOYCOT!!! if you've made a prototype and you're showing it then really, you should make it. I only bought the MPC Alpha with hopes that a Beta was on its way. really how much would it cost to make one? we all know Toynami doesnt spend much on materials or else the word QC wouldn't come up everytime the company is mentioned. i guess the CEO needs to give himself a raise this year rather than actually make something thatfans want. 1/100 DYRL valks??? why are you just repeating products?!!?!?! please yamato jump in here and rescue us!!!!

When Yamato 'killed off' their 1/100 VF-0x project, a lot of people were disappointed and pissed.
No one ever thought that after they scrapped it, Yamato done one and come up with a bigger and definitely better 1/60 perfect variable version.
Toynami's going to be shooting themselves on the foot for advertising a fully transforming Beta, then changing plans, and telling people it's going to be a statue.
Talk about one step forward, then two steps back. ;D

It got canned... Toynami doesn't think there will be enough demand for it due to the high price point and they made too big of a promise as far as a connection mechanism goes..

They should have made the Alpha's totally out of plastic with maybe very minimal diecast, and sold them for $49.99. Then maybe they could have made a Beta out of mostly plastic too at a much lower cost and not even worry about the whole "Limited Diecast" thing.

True. PLENTY of other things to get including all these new Macross figures. Still sad to not see a Beta released though. It was one of the reasons I got the Alpha in the first place.

I still need to get an Alpha one of these days, a Beta would do much to prompt that purchase.
